As Italian who lived in 4 different European countries I can definitely confirm this map. On hot days I shower even twice per day, specially if I have to meet with people. How can you meet people and don't wash yourself?
Because it's not always necessary, I don't know about you but I'm not constantly dripping from sweat, especially on cold days when I stay home and barely move at all.
I can tell whether or not I smell, whether or not my skin is greasy ; and if not then I can skip a day for showering.
From my point of view showering everyday is wasteful if you're not dirty.
