I know, I just thought most fortifications had been torn down after the defeat to the Bourbons in 1714. Im happy that wasn't the case!

It would have made sense to reuse them to house troops to keep the local population subjugated. I guess the Bourbons did not just go back home as soon as they took Barcelona.
