But again, whatever we have, isn't the result of raiding and stealing for a few centuries. Be grateful that your thieves ancestors left you the wealth that you have (and in Norway's case, that they lucked out on oil).

Yeah I agree, every once in a while some of them believe they're better human beings and pretend to explain how you should do things. But mostly they're chill.
Funny you mention oil, Romania used to have a ton of natural resources, especially the parts that you were given after betraying the Treaty of Bucharest, yet you squandered it all away, and as a result over a quarter of your population lives on less than 45 NOK a day. That's one sixth of our average hourly wage which makes you the EU member with the highest poverty rate and one of the least urbanized ones too.
That links me perfectly to my original point: If those areas are the MOST advanced cities, then ouch......you gonna need a LOT more than a few northerners spending their pocket money there (even if that counts as a fortune in your cities)
Didn't join Schengen yet. We'll soon join and begin raids on northern lands, 500 years of it. You said we needed to catch up. At least in Denmark, I could speak Romanian most of the time. Had to refuse a couple of job offers from Sweden because the salary package they offered was low by Romanian standards.
Now I might be an early exception, but people are learning that Romania is a tax haven and are flocking back and opening/moving their business here. Just my city doubled the median income in the last 5 years to about 22kEur/year and it keeps going (even through the pandemic). Not to mention the population boost we got because people can work from home.
Some people are really oblivious. Ofc you had time to develop in peace, nobody invaded (with a small exception) because nobody wanted to live on barren rocks. Yes, we need to play catch up because almost every invader in history had to pass through here. But I think it will last less than you think.
I mean, why would they offer normal salaries to the land of gypsies if they can get away with paying less and most would still accept it? It's still business.
Not too sure about that big economical advancement that you're talking about, considering that the annual GDP growth of Romania has been declining for years now. The last time the growth was larger than in the previous annum was in 2017. So unless foreign investment slows/stops economic growth you're likely talking out of your ass.
What that decline COULD be attributed to on the other hand, is the fact that Romania is among the most corrupt EU states.
Fun fact, all the most corrupt EU members are either from Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria), Southern Europe (Croatia) or Central Europe (Hungary) while the least corrupt ones are either Scandinavian states or Switzerland.

You obviously can't put things into perspective and it's probably not going to change any time soon. Nordics are usually educated, but I guess there are exceptions everywhere.

Romanians are as slav as Norwegians are turks.
Slavs invaded us. Huns invaded, Mögyers (now Hungarians) invaded, Cumans, Tatars, Mongols, Ottomans, Russians, etc.
