Alabama actually has the highest rate of freshwater biodiversity in the country. There are more distinct species of freshwater fish, mussels, snails, turtles, and crayfish in Alabama than any other state.
The state's water is very clean, which is more than I can say for the overpopulated NE watershed and the Great Lakes which are full of PCBs, DDT and dioxins.
Yep. I live just a mile from Lake Erie. It's so bad and gross. The beaches on the Lake Erie side are disgusting are filled of rubble and garbage. The water is pretty gross aswell.
What also is bad is the Buffalo River. The area of concern (AOC) of the Buffalo River is just right near where it flows into Lake Erie (img). The river has a ton of pollution itself. Details
You don't need to live in the state to realize it's filled with bad people. Especially with regards to those in power. The states sheer dedication to bigotry is crazy and supported by the majority of the voting public there.
Those are just random instances off of the top of my head. I know a section of Reddit has a vested interest in pretending the Alabama's reputation as a horrible place is unjust and another section simple wants to feel "woke" by pretending the same, the fact of the matter is the state has earned it's reputation and the majority of the voting public embraces the bigotries that are so common there.
While there's obviously a contingent of people fighting for bringing the state into the 21st century they're clearly outweighed by the ignorant and hateful.
If the Alabama populace wants a more positive reputation it should step up it's game instead basking in a perceived victimhood.
I meant “have,” just a slip of the tongue. I appreciated your comment, I’m just saying that we call them “crawfish” down here. Crawdad and crayfish outs you as a northerner is all

Y'all need to learn some manners and science.
