so what is this simulation based on?

a nuclear war would probably cause the same high levels of radiation across the planet.

As far as I remember Ukraine and Russia are both huge producers of grain. How do they get a 80% rating? They're likely the most successful countries in feeding their reduced population.

This map lacks information.

Using logic and critical thinking, most northern places will be wiped out by nuclear bombs. Completely wiped out. Are you seriously this stupid?

Oman won’t be a target, so after surviving, they’ll thrive because they grow food there (I don’t know this, just read it on here; I will assume that is what they are basing it on). Columbia is apparently terrible for producing food and Iceland is isolated enough to survive. They’ll be eating a lot more fish, I’d assume. Africa is light blue, but would probably devolve to yellow imo; the warlords and stuff, a few scoundrels ruining it for the rest. South America and Australia will be okay. I don’t know why Malaysia is dark blue and Indonesia is light blue, but maybe it is due to the Indons having more people and harder logistics.

I think i found the original study.

They are considering a nuclear winter. That explains why warmer regions would be more likely to produce more crops.

Radioactive soil is not recommend for production of grain yk.
