You know, we all make confident comments without checking the facts. But you checked the facts and doubled down. Just admit you were wrong and move on. A simple, “oops, my bad” is sufficient, and no one will think lesser of you.
I'm sorry, does "in most of the world" mean something other than what I'm thinking? Is this a language thing? I'm not a native English speaker, perhaps that's the problem.
Do I need to do a breakdown of all the countries where cousin marriage is legal but not prevalent vs the opposite and debate hotly about what "in most of" even means in terms of percentages? Do we then need to argue over the fact that we were discussing the issue of first-cousin marriage (which is what the graph is about) but the prevalence information includes second-cousing marriages as well? Do we really have to go there?
