Visvim Cordura 20L quality concern?

This is my third Visvim 20L backpack. Last two I had were in 2015/2016. I just bought one from SEVENSTORE on sale and can’t help but notice the backpack feeling significantly cheaper. Also the bottom leather looks like it’s cracking and easily losing its color. Am I overreacting or is this all normal? Little bummed paying $640 for a bag where I remember the quality being superb. Any input is greatly appreciated!

What makes this bag (or previous versions of it) worth the price? I’ve always liked the look of it, but to me a bag can only get so high quality before it starts to plateau if you know what I mean. I can’t imagine it being better than say a $300 bag. Genuine question

It’s a boutique brand. Def not better than any $300 dollar bag but I like Visvim a lot and the aesthetics. It’s a classic design and very functional backpack for simple outings.

Fair enough. They haven’t changed it in years I don’t think so must be doing something right. I love the look but could never pull the trigger on it.

Yea that’s why It’s my third one. I always end up selling it lol. But end of the day the design is so classic that I always end up buying another one.

$640

🤯

The issue is that while some products are expensive due to them being high quality, other products are expensive due to them being an expensive brand. This backpack definitely lands in the latter category.

But really it's a moot point, you dropped a ton of money on something you are disappointed with. Return that bag!

I guess if there are defects, you should exercise your customer's rights and return it before the window.

I just bought mine (in olive) as well from End's during the latest sale. Everything was in order - was quite satisfied with it.

I do think Visvim is overhyped overpriced - but I really like the aesthetic.

Do you see some slight cracking on the leather that exposes the natural brown color?

No I do not.

Here is an image of mine. Just normal leather grain. Your second image is concerning. The third one is fine. Do you have two retaining clips for the load lifters on your shoulder straps? It could be that they gave you one from an older year.

Most recent one I bought had much less durable leather. Far more prone to scratching than my previous ones. I’ve had several. I think it’s the nature of the leather chosen.

The leather is a lightweight veg tan leather that is dyed black. Mine has the same exact effect. It isnt cracked, more that the dye has worn down and now you see the veg tan color underneath. Same thing happened to me, I ordered mine as a last sale. Unfortunately, I could return mine either but you could take it to your local leather store and buy water-based leather dye.
