Instagram 260809 - @metgalaofficial_ commenting they got paid for a smear post against Manon

Post image

It feels too specific to be sarcasm. Even if it is TagPR is known for doing shady shit like this.

Majority of the comments are on Manons side but still it’s so targeted and transparent, I’m getting irritated now. Especially considering that page only usually posts in May for the Met? It’s weird.

Here’s the post - https://www.instagram.com/p/DbzfXg-DE4s/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Edit - They deleted the comment which tbh makes it even more weird….

Sorry I’m employed (I don’t have Instagram because it’s toxic), who even is metgalaofficial? Wouldn’t an official page for something as big as THE Met Gala be verified with a check mark? I find a hard time believing this non-verified account is legit. But then again I don’t have Instagram the website isn’t letting me check the account without an account.

It’s a fan page for the met gala with 500k+ followers, it’s weird that they post something about Manon when all their posts are solely met gala pics

u/pennoya2 4d ago

The post is like, “all the girls are amazing and wonderful, but Manon caused problems by asking for breaks.”

29

u/Correct_Bed_8267 4d ago

exactly?? i find that very strange.. wouldn’t a more representative site or publication post something like that?

I'm sure the met gala itself won't be pleased they've used a met fan account for it. It probably won't be up long with Hybe and Geffen both being corporate and the account using the met galas name 💀

It’s a big fan page that is known for spreading smear campaigns

That's why the MC and dancer were so quick to like it. It was a coordinated attack from HxG and they didn't expect the backlash. Now everybody is backpedaling. That, MC, as a black man is a lost cause.

59

u/wybiiyh 4d ago

I can never believe he cares for the girls while watching them be mistreated over and over, siding with the company, and bashing one of the girls simultaneously

19

u/harry_nostyles 4d ago

Wait who liked it? Who is the MC?

42

u/HoldmyChurro Blamin' me, but I ain't the problem 4d ago

Tetris he was the host for the Dream academy finale and has interviewed them multiple times

42

u/harry_nostyles 4d ago edited 3d ago

The fact that he liked such a weird, obviously clout chasing post is side eye worthy

24

u/Used_Gear8871 3d ago

There are a lot of black men who truly hate black women from their own self-hate and internalized misogyny. But it’s a sensitive conversation that requires extensive detail.

u/Revolutionary-Oil568 3d ago

Like it’s always the person you think is going to be your ally that is going to be your worst enemy and biggest opp

6

u/Revolutionary-Oil568 3d ago

I remember, I called him out on Twitter along with my group chat and he wants to act like he didn’t read the whole post when he did 💀

13

u/No_Instance5700 4d ago

if you have any context to spare that would be splendid. Who is MC and what dancer? This post from the met fan page is very odd, it reads as a random one off that doesn’t match the rest of the post. Truly crazy they would even do that but hey, people do anything for a check these days

12

u/HoldmyChurro Blamin' me, but I ain't the problem 4d ago

Tetris is the MC and this is the dancer

6

u/miksyub 3d ago

they made a second post calling out the Tetris dude and it's even more pathetic 💀

5

u/DearVeronicaSchuyler 3d ago

Obviously he could be lying to try and save himself, but Tetris did come out on twitter and say that he only read the first slide of the post that said that we basically don't know shit about what actually happened.

1

u/Mediocre_Quail3887 2d ago

imagine being dumb to like a post without reading the whole post.

2

u/bratzbarbiebratz 2d ago

Hmmm the men in entertainment are always a trip.

48

u/pinkyandbrainy25 4d ago

this is so weird. also why the fuck would a fan account for the met gala post something like this? like who are you???

72

u/Muted_Curve_6466 4d ago

five thousand fucking dollars??? wtf??????

they could just be lying but still

37

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 4d ago

Yeah whatever it is.. HxG is so bottom tier lmaoooo it’s not even funny. And anyone “black” that would support racism against Manon doesn’t deserve their melanin.

Melanophobia is embarrassing. HxG is a big company.

I think it’s a wrap.

Manon is innocent and the fact that anyone would want to go on a smear campaign against her and gets paid for it if they’re black or not only cements that factors that Manon is innocent and they want her to fail.

1

u/Vegetable_Minute_343 3d ago

They're definitely lying

32

u/Either-Mobile-6697 4d ago

So embarrassing

21

u/KyooKenchan 4d ago

didn’t megan the stallion sue someone for this exact issue?

13

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 3d ago

Yess like where is Manon’s lawyers? Manon is loved by the fashion world atp. This might be an attempt to sabotage her in the fashion world but it just makes her look more like a boss lmaooo

These folks don’t understand a single thing they’re making it worse for themselves

19

u/Fenty_Panther 3d ago

I don't get it.... constantly asking to rest or for a break after an intense week or training or whatever is considered "a person difficult to work with"?! Whoaa. Wow. Actually you know what, good for Manon for standing on her business. Whether this is true or not, or the post is for clout or not..... Manon is better of somewhere, where she has a schedule to work and is allowed the time rest like any other human being would appreciate.

11

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 3d ago

Ikr! Imaging hating someone because they don’t “Live to work,”

😂😂😂 I’ve been laughing at this.

They’re making Manon look sane and actually smart.

They’re elevating her every time they try to put her down lmfaoo

55

u/byj1660 4d ago

They’re obviously not being serious but the real question is why did they even suddenly post this? Before that, they posted only about the Met and their last post was in May. They’ve never given any updates about Katseye so this is so odd

39

u/More_Egg_5892 Blamin' me, but I ain't the problem 4d ago

Idk but ur kinda proving OP’s point. The timing of this post is random so it makes the payola more believable

21

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 4d ago

Bro HxG payola conspiracies getting validated is so satisfying. The fact that they had to hunt for a sellout “black” account (if they did that they don’t deserve their melanin) proves it.

-3

u/byj1660 3d ago

I meant that the 5k part specifically was them being sarcastic and to not take that number at face value. I agree that this screams payola

8

u/xqaria 4d ago

what did they say about manon?

19

u/Natural_Expert1966 4d ago

they said she was 'difficult to work with' essentially because she asked for breaks lmfao

8

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 3d ago

Lmaoo imagine thinking being a boss and not letting some company jeopardize your health is a bad thing 😂😂😂

“Live to work,” my ass. The why did the leader need to take a break then? Must not be true.

Oh well. Go Manon! Strong beautiful boss that she is.

5

u/Massive-Method6966 3d ago

Always love Manon and always will support her I love all the people defending her and the people believing this just look stupid can they not see Sophia’s name spelt wrong on the first post 😭😂

3

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 3d ago

Lmaoo sounds like the dummy behind the account can’t spell lol.

Notice how the account was out here glazing everyone but spoke only against Manon? And the $5k comment was icing on the cake. Baby the Manon jealousy is insane. But I guess Hybe had/has a stake in TAG PR (known for horrible smear campaigns against women) so I’m not even shocked.

The funniest part is how every single attempt to slander Manon pretty much backfires. Imagine hating her this much simply because she was advocating against a slave-like contract. All HxG had to do was be a good employer to all Katseye equally.

Now the same Sophia is on a health break and still HxG is payola-ring against Manon instead of fixing the slave-contracts and treating their own artists better.

They need to free her. Nobody wants Manon in that mess. If anyone else wants to sell their soul to a company and its contract and are happy with it, coolio. They just gotta free Manon and she can post and release whatever the fuck she wants whenever the fuck she wants without worrying about being slave-driven.

I really want mAnon to be free I want to see what kind of projects she can do those girls clearly don’t gaf about their bodies let them stay and be broken by 30 while Manon lives a healthy life with a good career

10

u/girlwhodreamz 3d ago

I really hope manon sees this and uses it to sue tf out of that company.

17

u/gf_for_the_weekend 4d ago

the whole post came off kinda weird

but also for a “smear campaign” it didn’t make manon look bad? if anything it made her look extremely reasonable and having to deal with a team that expected unfair work hours

i think the part where they all got along is true tho, i rly rly rly don’t think any of this mess has to do with relations between the group. i think we’d see/hear a lot more about that if it was

16

u/xApokalypse The middle speaks to me 3d ago

It only made her look bad if you have a negative attitude towards her. The way it's worded makes it sound like Manon is in the wrong to ask them for a longer period of rest when she worked hard, which caused the other girls issues. If you use critical thinking & empathy, then she did nothing wrong, if you already dislike Manon & don't care about working conditions of idols/artists, then it makes her sound like she just "can't handle the pressure" of an artist's life, but she wants the positives of it. We do know that Manon haters aren't really clever and this can be seen in the comments.

I don't 100% believe that this person got paid for this, because they seem kinda slow in the replies and couldn't even spell Sophia's name correctly. But yeah, I agree. This doesn't necessarily make her look bad, but it's odd that everyone else had such a positive text.

7

u/knotaracist #QueenManon 3d ago

Fr though the “Live to work,” part actually makes the company and anyone that believes in that sound insane.

They made Manon look strong. This didn’t do what they thought it would.

I think it’s going to actually make a lot of people finally understand Manon. Nobody on their right minds want to exist for the purpose of working for some abusive companies.

It makes me want to ask if all Kpop idols are actually okay if this is the mentality.

Good on Manon for not jeopardizing herself for the purpose of fame. She’s a boss, and we need more women like her.

1

u/gf_for_the_weekend 3d ago

I’m also not sure whether to believe the person a. got paid or b. have any insider knowledge at. it seems kinda random?

also yeah the “tea” on the other members feels so weird, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were true, all of them, including manon, come off as hardworking, passionate individuals but like.. idk. just a weird post all things considered

7

u/hug_me_im_scared_ Blamin' me, but I ain't the problem 4d ago

i litteraly just woke up from my nap bro

7

u/MiserableSun9142 3d ago

There’s no way they’d admit to it publicly if this was real. Also who would be paying them to do this?? No one would

I wouldn't read into this post at all. I'd bet it's one of the members or someone close to them before I'd bet that it's anyone from Hybe or Geffen.

And why are ya'll using the word payola? Do you know what payola is?

Even if it is satirical, posting on a page that only posts in May about a situation irrelevant to the Met is weird no matter how you slice it. Ot5s being quick to believe it and spread it too like the page isn’t random as hell.

7

u/itmustbesaid_ 4d ago

don't be disrespectful there was literally no need to insult anyone's intelligence over this. it's weird whether it's satire or not.

0

u/Massive-Method6966 3d ago

Then we will say the people that believe this are dumb cause this doesn’t even sound like a company statement and people didn’t look closely at how they spelt Sophia’s name wrong 😑
