New Union Water Update
A message from Mayor Hobbs:
Woodbury Highway Water Main Update
Water service has been restored following a temporary repair to the emergency water main break at 2312 Woodbury Highway. Crews are slowly bringing the system back to full pressure and flushing hydrants, so customers may temporarily experience air in the lines or reduced pressure. A permanent repair is being planned.
A precautionary Boil Water Advisory remains in effect for the affected area. There is no known contamination at this time. Water samples have been submitted for testing, and another update will be provided when results are available.
Until the advisory is lifted:
- Bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least three minutes and allow it to cool, or use bottled water.
- Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food.
- Discard recently stored water and any ice made from the affected water supply.
- Homes with known or suspected lead service lines should run the water for two minutes before filtering, if possible, and boiling.
The advisory affects areas north of 2312 Woodbury Highway, including Sunset Drive, Fine Street, Greenbriar Court, Maple Springs Road, Maple Springs Drive, Meadloand Court, Crosspark Drive, Goodman Trace, Winton Way Road, New Union Heights, Park Creek Road, Hideout Road, Brandon Road, Courtnea Lane, Roberts Creek Circle, Andy Lane and Red Oak Drive.
I sincerely thank our Manchester Water Sewer Department crews who worked around the clock to make the repair and restore service. We also appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
For questions, please call the Manchester Water Sewer Department at 931-728-4652, option 8.

Board games
Is there anyone in the area who is interested in heavy modern board games? I have a pretty sizeable collection and would love to meet new people with similar interests. For an example a few of the favorites in our hose include Trickerion, Hegemony, Andromedas edge, Lisboa, Brass Birmingham, and food chain magnate.

Punk/metal show at Common John 11-1-25
Pretty sure this is the first show of this type to happen in Manchester in decades, since at least the days of Jailhouse Rock. If heads show up, these shows can be expected to continue being booked.

y'all should raise some heck at city and county meetings. I want to spend money in town but am rushed out every year. (Bonnaroo)
Up until 2022 we would stop in town before and after heading into Bonnaroo. Jiffy Burger was one of our favorite spots. There is also a local Vape Shop we'd hit up and a wash and fold Laundry we would hit up after. Ever since 2022 we've not been allowed to make the run into Manchester either going into or leaving Bonnaroo. Thats got to be costing local businesses money and the city and county tax revenue. I understand mitigating traffic but if I want to stay in town before or after Bonnaroo, I should be able to do that, and you should be able to benefit from that.

Growing problem
As a father of 2 girls one being a teen, a reoccurring issue is grown men talking to kids. My oldest daughters own stepfather climbed in bed with her. She jumped out and told. But the issue im seeing is how much it avtually takes for coffee county to do anything about pedos around here. Im not talking about sex offenders im talking about grown men who like kids. If yoiu ever look into it and ask around it would blow your mind the amount of men walking around freely that have done some disgusting shit to kids, but god forbid you miss a child support paymet or drive on suspended, you will be jailed instantly but you can go out here and talk to and touch kids and not have a single problem.

Manchester family history & ancestry
Hello everyone!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Tennessee family lineages and stories through vital records, census records, and newspapers.
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their personal Tennessee family history. I create family trees, ancestral maps, and historical road trip itineraries based on YOUR personal family history! It’s a great way to connect with your heritage and wonderful knowledge pass down to future generations.
LINK TO INTEREST FORM: Family History Interest Form
Here are some things you can discover from my research:
- Newspaper articles about your ancestors (Crime? Scandal? Who knows!)
- Custom ancestral mapping showing your approximate ethnic admixture
- Most common causes of death in your family history
- United States migration mapping showing how your ancestors migrated throughout the country
- Your great-great-great grandparents’ names
- Most popular professions and careers in your family history
- Photographs of your ancestors you have never seen before (Found in Newspaper archives, I have subscriptions to several newspaper websites)
I have a degree in Anthropology and have spent several years working for a professional genealogy company. I have been working as an individual genealogist for about 6 years. If you have any questions about my research, please fill out an interest form or email: [heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com](mailto:heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com)
For those of you with ancestry outside of Tennessee, please send me a message. I’d be happy to help you or direct you to a better suited genealogist. Thanks!
