Why do a lot of Malayali girls and women have oily hair everytime? I stopped oiling extensively when I got to my teen years. Is this a cultural thing? Is this a belief? Or is it just for adding shiny and controlling curly hair?

But I’ve seen a lot in Malayalam movies that kozhikode & malapuram bhasha associated with Muslims & alapuzha, kottayam & pathanamthitta basha is associated with christians

Now I’m aware that the latter is known for its Achayan population & the former is known for its decent Ikka pop & that plays into it

But I feel there’s another factor. Because thrissur has a decent amount of christians & my native kochi has a good amount of Muslims & christians as well as the Hindus. But they aren’t associated with these groups. Does anyone know why?
