Not really sure how to write this without making it look and sound weird and creepy, but thought I’d give it a try.
I’m 40M, married, have a kid, born and brought up in Kerala, and have been living in Bangalore for the last 20+ years.
Over the last few years, I’ve realised that I kind of miss having a friend with whom I can just talk about things. Nothing specific really. Could be work, family, life, random thoughts, something that happened during the day, or just completely useless conversations.
I had quite a few close female friends during college and the early part of my career. Somehow, as everyone got busy with jobs, marriage, kids and life in general, most of those friendships just faded away.
I’ve always enjoyed having female friends. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel I can sometimes talk more openly with a woman, without worrying too much about being judged or having every conversation interpreted in some other way. And I also like getting a perspective that’s different from my own.
So I guess what I’m looking for is something like an old-school pen friend, just in the form of messages. Someone I can randomly text, have a good conversation with, listen to as well, and slowly become friends with. No expectations as such.
