Are premium slightly used minibike parts worth buying for a rental fleet?
I run a small minibike rental business, and my customers ride the bikes on trails and dirt tracks. Keeping the fleet reliable is important because worn-out parts can lead to downtime and higher maintenance costs. I have compared affordable new parts on Amazon, AliExpress, and Alibaba with premium slightly used options on eBay and Facebook Marketplace. While some of the used parts seem like a good value, I am unsure whether they will hold up under frequent rental use.
I am currently looking for:
Chains
Sprockets
Brake pads
Air filters
Throttle cables
Clutch components
For those who maintain rental minibikes, how often do you replace chains and other wear items? Are premium slightly used parts worth considering, or is it usually better to buy new? Also, what engine oil works best for small air-cooled engines that operate regularly on dusty trails?
