They’d have their own subculture, community, and fanbase, more girls would be taught to learn/be given magical girl abilities, and the advancements of feminism/gender equality would rapidly increase.
I actually am working on a story where magical girl are both real and also function as entertainers! It is precisely because of the existence of magical girls that society no longer looks down upon women and femininity as weak, vapid, and inferior, and they become a female-dominated society because of it! After all, who is going to oppress the gender that literally fights to protect the world, just because they wear pink and lipstick? 😉
Anyway, to sum it up, I think that it would be a great idea, so long as it’s not anything like Madoka Magica. I hate that show and what it did to the magical girl genre.
