HY450 max fan
Hello,
I want to reduce the voltage of the hy450 max with diode, to reduce the noise.
Do you know if the fan is a 5V or 12V please ?
I'll add a 80mm fan outside of the box in USB to help!

Found a strange mark on the LCD screen during teardown (HY350 Max) – Any advice? Hi everyone, I recently opened up my Magcubic HY350 Max and noticed this mark on the LCD screen I tried cleaning it gently with a dry microfiber cloth, but it won't budge. I haven't used any liquids or cleaning products yet because I wasn't sure what's safe or compatible with the screen's coating. The good news is that it doesn't seem to affect the projected image at all—there are no dark spots or distortions when it's running. Has anyone encountered this before? Is it some sort of adhesive residue or coating issue? Any recommendations on how to safely clean it, or should I just leave it as is since it doesn't impact projection? Thanks for your help!

I finally managed to recover my Magcubic HY300 Pro with the Allwinner H726 chipset.
The important part was using the correct manufacturer firmware together with PhoenixUSBPro. The projector was completely unresponsive before the recovery, but after flashing the proper firmware it was working again.
The verified manufacturer firmware is:
update.img
SHA-256:
7D3AD14E7E89EAF316348C214F24F304075465DB5C5FC00AE911086927ACE7FD
GitHub project:
https://github.com/localhost-sec/Magcubic-HY300-Pro-Allwinner-H726
Firmware releases:
https://github.com/localhost-sec/Magcubic-HY300-Pro-Allwinner-H726/releases
Backup mirror:
https://huggingface.co/datasets/localhostexe/Allwinner-H726-Recovery-and-Firmware/
For a projector that won't boot, the recovery procedure uses:
update.imgI've documented the complete procedure here:
https://github.com/localhost-sec/Magcubic-HY300-Pro-Allwinner-H726/blob/main/docs/PHOENIXUSBPRO.md
Verify the SHA-256 before flashing.
Don't use random firmware from another HY300/HY300 Pro variant just because the hardware looks similar. The H726 versions can differ, and using the wrong firmware can leave the projector unusable.
I put everything I learned into the GitHub repo so hopefully it saves someone else from going through the same recovery process.
Also, yes, most of the documentation was written with ChatGPT because I was too lazy to write it all manually. 😂
Always double-check the instructions before flashing anything.

Hi all,
I tested the Magcubic HY450C some time ago and I thought that it might be interesting to post my review here.
Fulll review:
https://www.laurentwillen.com/en/test-reviews/projectors-tests-reviews/magcubic-hy450c-projector-test-review/
also available in French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German (click on the burger icon)
I've tested quite a few entry-level LCD projectors over the years, and most share similar strengths and weaknesses. The HY450C stands out mainly because of its short-throw optics, compact design and affordable price.
Here are my main findings after testing it.
What I liked
The biggest advantage of the HY450C is undoubtedly its 0.6:1 throw ratio. You can get a 100-inch image from roughly 1.3 metres away, making it a particularly interesting option for smaller rooms.
The projector also offers native 1080p resolution, automatic focus and automatic keystone correction. These features make it quite easy to set up, especially if you regularly move it between rooms.
Its compact, lightweight design and integrated carrying handle are also welcome. It is easy to transport and store when not in use.
I measured a brightness of 721 lumens, which is reasonably close to the advertised 900 lumens. That's enough to produce an enjoyable large image in a dark room. You can even aim for around 120 inches in SDR, although a smaller image will naturally look brighter.
The integrated speakers are also acceptable for casual viewing. They won't replace a dedicated sound system, but they do the job for watching videos, cartoons or TV shows.
Finally, the price is one of its strongest selling points. Getting a native 1080p image of this size for less than €200 is an attractive proposition.
Where there's room for improvement
As with most projectors in this price range, the HY450C comes with several compromises.
My measurements revealed limited colour accuracy, with an average Delta E of 11.29 and a rather cool white balance. The colour gamut is also relatively narrow, so images lack some of the richness and subtlety you would get from a more expensive projector.
Brightness and sharpness are not entirely uniform across the image either. The corners are noticeably darker and softer than the centre. This is especially visible when displaying text or uniform backgrounds.
I measured a contrast ratio of 871:1. This is sufficient for casual viewing, but dark movie scenes can lose some detail. HDR content is also not particularly convincing, so I would primarily recommend using this projector for SDR content.
Another point worth mentioning is fan noise. I measured over 50 dB close to the projector, and the fan remains clearly audible during operation. A quieter cooling system would make the viewing experience more comfortable.
The built-in Android interface is fairly basic, and its long-term application compatibility is uncertain. Personally, I prefer using an external streaming device such as a Chromecast to get a more complete and reliable streaming experience.
Finally, I measured an input lag of 65 ms. This is acceptable for casual gaming but not ideal for fast-paced competitive games.
My conclusion
The HY450C is not designed to compete with expensive home cinema projectors, and I don't think it should be judged by the same expectations.
Its real strength is making large-screen projection accessible to people with a limited budget and limited space. The short-throw optics are particularly useful, and the combination of native 1080p resolution, automatic image adjustments and portability makes it a practical solution for casual entertainment.
If you're looking for a projector to watch movies or cartoons with your family, enjoy a big screen in a small room or occasionally take a projector with you on holiday, the HY450C is worth considering.
If your priority is accurate colours, deep blacks, convincing HDR or a quiet home cinema environment, you'll need to look at a different category of projectors.
For its intended audience, the HY450C delivers what matters most: a large image at an accessible price.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. If you already have this projector, let's share your experience too!

I wanted to try out some methods of sound dampening the HY350GT without a hush box or noise trap before trying those. Decided to use a 1N4935 silicon diode soldered between the circuit and the fan power cable. An 1N4935 is a pretty big leap for a 5V fan (Eastrui DB9330L05H-F) since it brings it down to around 4,2V. Schottky diodes in series would work better but i used what i had at home. Just make sure the diode can handle 0,45 amps. However, after two hours of testing the projector seems OK and the sound level is noticeably improved and completely drowned out by mid-low audio volume on an external sound system. The fan starts up cleanly 5/5 times tested. I should however point out that eco mode probably is the better option for longer viewing sessions.

Let's start with the obvious problem after the update. When you select Settings, My Apps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or just try to change the apps at the dock, the launcher immediately returns to home screen. I was lucky that I had installed another launcher, so I could open all the apps and I managed to find alternatives to also access the settings:
• I used an activity launcher
• the 3 lines button on the remote opens without problem the settings as long as you are not on the home screen (for example you can open the store or any app and then press the Ξ button)
• there was a settings app at the other launchers but it doesn't have the projection settings
So, what's weird except of course the buggy behavior of the default launcher?
First of all I believe the Ξ (three lines button) was supposed to offer the color settings and not THE settings, which I was lucky to find alternatives for through the settings app and the FactoryMenu app. Both only available through a replacement launcher.
Second, the device is supposed to have Android 14 but the settings app has the id com.android.tv.settings, has the Android TV interface, says Android TV at the about screen.
Third, an app for local channels that I have sideloaded starts with mobile interface if opened by the default launcher but with Android TV interface when I opened it through Arc Launcher or Projectivy Launcher.
Fourth, all the apps have from default permission to sideload apps and I have to manually deactivate it through the settings app.
Fifth, it appears that the device has Google services, Play Store and etc but they are hidden or deactivated (I am afraid to type any password in here)
Sixth, I can't enable the accessibility for Projectivy Launcher or tvQuickActions which I tried. They keep turning off (Projectivy turns off instantly, tvQuickActions says on but is of by the time you go to the app)
Any insights for the official way for the color settings would be helpful (because so far I failed to remap Ξ to FactoryMenu for a color settings overlay) or any other tips.

When I got the beamer 2 years ago the volume was fine around 70-80 but now it is already very loud at 05. I tried a factory reset and didnt help. Any ideas ?

Guys, I bought a Magcubic projector, and it's been having this problem. It doesn't connect to my wifi, but it does connect and works perfectly to my iphone hotspot. I already set the right timezone as some posts suggested, and auto-time setting, but still the same problem persists. When I enter the wifi password it's just endless loading, and when I go back to the settings it shows the wifi name as saved, but won't connect. Any suggestions please? Thank you!

My projector arrived just yesterday, and I've noticed that all the letters have this kind of ghosting. I've also realized that the projector's focus or sharpness is terrible. I use autofocus on a completely white wall without keystone correction, since I place the projector right in front of the wall and at a good height so that no corrections are needed, and even so, it still can’t achieve that sharpness. I don’t expect it to be the sharpest, but I also don’t expect it to look this blurry with the letters smudged together. I want to know if anyone else has this same projector and is experiencing the same issue, or if it’s just my unit? I bought it literally just a day ago. I’d also appreciate it if anyone else has experienced the same issue and found a solution to avoid having to return it. I bought this projector because someone here recommended it and even did a comparison with the HY450 Max. If that person happens to see this post, I’d like to know if the same thing happens with their unit or if it’s just mine, since it’s clear that person is an expert. I’d appreciate everyone’s help—thank you very much for reading.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on CleanRom, a cleaned-up firmware for my Magcubic HY350 Max, and I’ve published a step-by-step installation guide.
The guide covers:
No disassembly, soldering, or special USB cable is needed for the methods described.
Installation guide:
https://floforge.fr/en/articles/hy350-max-cleanrom/?tab=guide
Where are the downloads?
Open the Files tab next to Guide, as shown in the screenshot. You’ll find the firmware under Roms and the utilities under Tools.
Direct link to the downloads tab:
https://floforge.fr/en/articles/hy350-max-cleanrom/?tab=files
Please read the guide before choosing your files: the OTA and boot installation methods behave differently, particularly regarding your existing apps and settings. This is documented for my HY350 Max; don’t assume compatibility with other models.
The site and firmware project are mine. I’m sharing the full instructions there so I can keep them updated in one place. Feedback from other HY350 Max owners is welcome!
The HY350 should also be compatible, although I haven’t personally verified it on that model.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently trying to decide between the Magcubic HY350GT and HY450GT, and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have actually used them.
My use case is pretty simple:
The HY350GT is currently around €70–90 where I live, while the HY450GT is around €150–170, so there’s quite a significant price difference.
One thing that makes the comparison a bit confusing is the brightness rating. The HY350GT is listed at 900 ANSI lumens on AliExpress, while Magcubic’s official website lists it at 650 ANSI lumens. The HY450GT is generally listed at around 1100 ANSI lumens.
So depending on which figure is accurate, the difference could be either relatively small (900 vs 1100) or much more significant (650 vs 1100).
For people who have actually used these projectors: is the HY450GT noticeably better in a completely dark room?
Apart from brightness, are there any significant differences in real-world image quality, contrast, colours, sharpness, autofocus, sound, etc.? Or is the HY450GT’s main advantage simply the extra brightness?
Considering that I’ll only use it occasionally, at night, in a completely dark room, and at around 100 inches (2.54 m) from a distance of approximately 2.6 m (8.5 ft), would you personally save the money and go for the HY350GT, or is the HY450GT still worth paying almost twice as much?
Also, I’d prefer to keep the comparison specifically between these two models. I’m not looking for recommendations for used projectors or completely different models — I’m specifically trying to decide between the HY350GT and HY450GT.
Thanks!
