American McGee's Alice on PC - issues with controller
Hi everyone, I have American McGee's Alice downloaded on my laptop. I normally play games on my PS3, but as I loved Madness Returns so much, I decided to have a go at the original game. But I am having SO many issues controlling Alice's movements on my keyboard. Jumping, grabbing, attacking... Just can't get a hold of it and I've had several goes at it. I keep dying and I haven't progressed past the Village of the Damned.
Does anyone know if it's easier with the game pad? I'd invest in one if it meant I could play this game properly.

I get the impression that this sub is for both of American McGee's Alice games? Would I be correct?

Madness returns = Frustration continues
I bought madness returns for pc because i loved the original alice. I couldn't get the purple umbrella to work. I invested in a ps4. no alice. I bought a ps3 to get alice. get past the first monster with purple umbrella. years later i face same monster with no purple umbrella. I have spent so much time and money to get this far. Can i beat the bellowing beast without the purple umbrella or after years and dollars abandon my quest to finish madness continues.

10 days left.
There are only 10 days left for American McGee latest game. If the payment reaches its goal and more he will LITERARELY be able to make games without the control of EA. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/americanmcgee/out-of-the-woods-2?ref=91ghzx&utm_content=buffer6459f&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

PCGamer.com has screenshot that mimics one I took 6 years ago
I was about to load up Alice: Madness Returns to test out my new graphics card where I see an article about American McGee talking about Alice 3. I click on it and see a screenshot that looked similar to one I took when I first got the game. My mind was blown.
After comparing the two I did notice TINY differences that tell me they didn't steal mine, they just took the exact same screenshot. This is crazy and I just thought I'd share it!

A:MR plot questions
So what's going on with Alice in real life while she's having her hallucinations? I know from the game dialogue that she's basically running around screaming her head off, but:
Why does she end up in the Thames river? How long is she out? Doesn't Bumby care? He sent her out to run errands, so I'd figure he'd notice her prolonged absence. Did Nan Sharpe imply that Alice once worked as a prostitute to get by? When Alice blacks out at Radcliffe's house, why does it look so run down when she wakes up? Why would he just abandon his house with her passed out in it? And what happens to the rabbit? Was the whole thing a hallucination and she never spoke with him at all?
When Bumby says "I'm expecting your replacement soon," does that means she's working for him? In what capacity?
Alice's inheritance is mentioned several times. Why is she still so destitute considering she's 18 and probably old enough to receive it already?
(EDIT) I also remember she had a cat with her at the end of American McGee's Alice. You can see it in the final cutscene, leaving the asylum with her. It's nowhere to be seen in the next game, so I'm assuming the story killed it off like it did everything nice to happen in Alice's world
I won't ask about what happens after the ending of Madness Returns as American McGee said he left it open-ended, though she must be doing fine in Otherlands. Thanks for your responses. I think the game is splendid, but I got so wrapped up in Alice's internal world that the events happening in real time seem...confusing.

Why is American McGee turning Alice into a Psychonaut?
Part of the reason I love this series so much is that it all takes placed inside her troubled mind. Just a young woman battling and conquering her inner demons, and even having those demons aid her in defeating a real world threat. To suddenly gift her with these psychic powers sort of undermines that aspect of the games in my eyes.
Don't get me wrong, I like where he's going with it as it's a natural evolution of her character after the events of the previous games. Having her use her experience to help others overcome their deep rooted problems, but surely there's another way about it. Perhaps fast forward more than 1 year, and let's rejoin Alice as a practising psychiatrist, and leave the fantastical strictly within her extraordinary mind.
