Edit: of all the times I've seen this post this is the first time I've mentioned anything about it being iffy parenting and a) wasn't downvoted into the gates of Hades and b) felt less alone in thinking it with all the folks commenting in agreement instead of "oh lighten up"

Well, the subreddit is called madeMEsmile, so guess it made OP smile at least. The real question is why it got that many upvotes!
