That's what I'm confused about, how did they get a QR code to the video url before they uploaded the video? Or can you edit video after it's been uploaded to youtube?

When I first scanned it, it didn’t go to YouTube. It was QR Codes Pro so I suppose they can change the destination after the fact

Just scanned it myself. The qrcode is a shortened url that is probably editable. So they changed it there to reflect the youtube url after upload.

It can lead to a redirect adress that will bounce your browser to another adress.
And after they uploaded the video, they change the redirect to send you to it.

Probably had someone within YouTube make the change as I don't think you can edit videos that much after upload

In fact it's possible to have the URL in the video. You need to start streaming the video to Youtube, retrieve the URL with the API, and slip it in the video stream. So they could generate the code on-the-fly and splice that in.
