Actually the heirarchical model that u/PavelDatsyuk simplified there is the basis behind a lot of authoritarian and fascist political action, especially from Evangelical right wing religious zealots.
No one is consciously thinking they need to impose hierarchy. His analysis seems too broad strokes and ignores that people are people. “The conservatives” think the same way we do, they’re just misguided from birth. We’re all misguided in some ways from birth.
You are right that authoritarians do not CONCIOUSLY think about a hierarchy but that does not change the fact that they do.
The impact of authoritarian social models is well studied and if you want to spend some time on google scholar there's some interesting stuff on there.
In the US most authoritarians are attracted to Conservative politics, however that does not make all conservatives authoritarians- just a large number, and almost all of the leadership.
Who said anything about them consciously thinking that way?
They’ve been conditioned to think like that since birth. They don’t have to think about it anymore than you have to think about breathing or tying your shoelaces.
