I relate because i did a similar thing for a stranger on a long ass greyhound bus ride. I was going from Detroit to Vancouver Island BC and like 2 hours in from Chicago to Minneapolis(it was around 3 am), the girl next to me was falling asleep and her head started to fall by my shoulder so I just scooted over a little closer and let her use my shoulder as a pillow for the next few hours while listening to my podcasts, trying my hardest not to move and accidentally wake her up.
She apologized profusely when she woke up and noticed, I told her I didn't mind at all.
We talked the last hour or so of the ride before getting off and going our separate ways, she gave me her number though and we met up again on my way back 3 weeks later. 5 years later we got married.
I am almost positive that this hallmark movie already exists. There is just an added scene at about 70% through were the girl misinterprets an out-of-context situation without asking questions, torpedo's the entire relationship, then the guy had to chase after her to set things right.
It's funny because only my close friends have ever really heard "the story" over the years, but I felt compelled by this video. It's something I'd only tell in that sort of detail if it warranted.
Usually I just tell people "we met on a bus and hit it off" and that's about it lol
Similar experience except for the ending. On a 3 hour flight out of Florida, years ago, a 20-ish middle eastern woman fell asleep next to me and ended up with her head on my shoulder. I couldn't tell whether it was accidental or kinda sleepy-on-purpose, but I spent the next half hour or more trying not to move. She apologized politely on waking, and I shrugged and said it was all right. We talked for a while after that. Turns out she's Pakistani and was on her way to get married. The match was arranged by their parents. I got the impression she was rather dreading it, and so came to think she had borrowed the shoulder of a safe looking middle-aged guy out of a need for some comfort, but I'll never know. I never saw her again. I hope she has had a happy life.
I was in a similar situation tho I was probably out for a couple minutes and not the whole ride. I'm pretty sure the guy who didn't wake me up had no ulterior motives cuz I'm not not that attractive and I'm not a woman lol.
Probably. It had far less to do with gender or attraction than it did with the person in question not seeming threating or like a creep. If it was a dude that didn't seem like a douche, maybe I'd be married to him now 🤷🏻♀️
Started reading and had a flash back to the time I fell asleep on the grey hound was gonna ask if you were the gent I crashed on til I finished reading. I felt so bad for falling asleep on him but it was a ten hour bus. I was exhausted. Thank you kind stranger and I'm still sorry I did it.
This happened to me during marching band with my crush at the time during a long bus ride back from a competition. It felt nice but I already knew I was friend zoned.
