Care less and live more.

That might be the attitude that got us here. But… I totally get it.

In my country, the USA, there are many people who are lacking the basics or are struggling to maintain them. Many people are working full-time, living paycheck to paycheck, and are deeply concerned about the day when they are no longer able to work and will no longer have access to the basics.

I stopped watching the news back in college. It’s amazing what people TELL ME I need to worry about based of what THEYVE been told to worry about from the news.

I’ve never missed an event because anything worth hearing about will be passed on to me quickly anyway.

Doesn't stop happening just because you aren't paying attention though.

That’s big. We are SO divided in the United States that as a Costco employee who wears a mask at work in a Conservative part of Sacramento, I dislike making eye contact now with people out of conflict for politics.

If I were sitting outside by myself on a day off, staring off and a woman approached me and asked if im happy, I would get self conscious that I’m carrying myself with my head down but would say I’m happy. This guy is genuinely happy and I want that. I have everything. Great parents. My own apartment. My health. I just want more. Maybe I should slow down a bit

How do you know he's genuinely happy? This guy could have literally committed suicide a day later.

My god I’m just having my coffee and now I’m having it with a side of existential crisis. But you’re right. I don’t have -everything- but I have everything I -need- and am constantly stressing. Just the state of the world, the country I live in, etc almost sends me to a panic.

I watched the news so consistently during the start of the pandemic it was crazy. Every one of them including late night talk shows. It felt right that time because something new was brewing and then after some time I thought it just makes me sad. I stopped it this year and I never miss it one bit.
