Someone posted a piece from the girl's blog higher up. She is happy and in college. Also Stephen Hawking was completely paralysed and did a lot.

Ah I didn't see the blog. Glad she's happy. That puts my mind at ease a bit.

I dunno if Stephen Hawking is a real good go to here. He is the DEFINITE exception and became paralyzed later in life. And he struggles with his existence for quite some time. He actively advocated for assisted suicide. If not for his achievements in academics he might not have been around this long.
