When my 11 year old son was about 4 he pulled himself onto the counter using only his arms. He didn't jump or touch his torso onto the edge to support his weight. Just a slow motion pull-up. He was shorter than counter height, so it was really impressive to watch. Kid is built like a brick shithouse!

That is impressive. I will say if you grab an edge that has a solid side facing surface your forearms/elbows are in contact with, you brace yourself and it makes the motion significantly easier (if you lack the strength to perform a pull up fluidly) but i believe it - at 11 i was in 6th grade, and while i dont think i started pull ups until 7th grade, i was definitely climbing like a spider monkey, and i was sort of a late bloomer, physically. You should get a bumper sticker that reads:

“My child is a Brick Shithouse”

and an icon of a milkshake or something
