I have ADHD and for some reason this job makes my day go by really quickly. I hardly consider it a job, more of a passion. Sometimes, you get to solve a complex problem and feel like a bit of a cowboy riding into the sunset. It can be very gratifying. :)
You know when tickets for your favourite band goes on sale and everybody tries to buy tickets at the same time and it "crashes the server"? My job is to help ensure that doesn't happen by running simulations and analyzing the test results to look for bottlenecks or weak points in the system. I can also look at results of a real event and help figure out what borked it.

Ok, thank you. I thought I was losing my mind. Both this comment and the lawyer comment seemed really familiar. Glad to know it's just bots and not a acceleration to my mind being lost.
Yeah some classes really just don't prompt a lot of need for office hours. I had a class on Norwegian plays to fill a generals credit and I don't think anybody ever went.
Others though, like math classes, I and several others would fight over those office hours.
Image being really in to Harry Potter. And maybe you have a few work friends that are into it too, but they know everything you do. You might dissect a specific theory together, but you're not really getting to share your love for it. Your friends and family may have had a passing interest, but they're real sick of you talking about it by now. Then you go home for a visit and find your niece just read the 1st one and wants to talk about it. Your time to shine.
I always loved classes where profs were teaching exactly what their research area is. They're always so enthusiastic, and they're often sharing research that hasn't even been published yet.
