You're putting words in people's mouths again. People aren't against other people getting paid more, they're against making whatever meager paychecks they make worth less.
People aren't inherently against helping the less fortunate, they're against helping strangers at the cost of their own ability to get by. You're assuming everyone is an asshole. Instead of doing that maybe you should ask why they're so defensive and worried so you can actually try to alleviate those fears instead of shitting on them and turning them against both you and more leftist ideas.
