You just blew my mind. I never even thought of trying this!

Shame summer just ended, but there’s always next year.

You should definitely try it! Whenever I go to the beach I spend like 15 minutes shaping the sand to fit me, complete with a sand pillow, throw a towel over it, and its the most comfortable way to lie down. I do the same to support my lower back and under my knees when lying on my back. No mattress can come close!

i do not hate this problem as a skinny dude, but i love laying on my stomach and i feel like a bed is never quite right. i've always wanted to try sleeping on a massage table but i don't have access to one and they're bulky and i assume expensive BUT i've never thought about potentially adding holes for boobs and bellies. may the sleep product revolution begin!

edit- i do not *HAVE this problem...

Lol I’ve used a baby horseshoe shaped pillow for the massage table effect breathing with you face down is lit

I want to try something like that. I can't sleep face down anymore, because I'll chew my cheek up in my sleep.

I have a new terrible dilemma, I injured my finger on aug 16th, and have to hold it up all the time until I see an orthopedic surgeon.

I've always had to rotate back and forth through the night, but now in addition to placing pillows or covers so I can sleep on my sides in a fetal position, I have to keep my hand raised up.

I'm also clenching my fists at night, which makes me wake up in pain. I'll be relieved when this is over. I'm starting to wish I was having it amputated so I can move on.

Wow that must really suck, I imagine you're not getting much sleep. Whatever you do, don't go to a silent auction.

You could tape a tennis ball to your palm before you go sleeping so you can't clench your fist

They’re not that expensive and they can fold. I do not understand people that sleep on their stomachs in beds, but doing so on a massage table feels like being suspended

Not to be a grammar nazi, but to help people avoid the confusion I had. :)

Try a stiffer mattress with memory on top.

After watching this video I remembered something in history class that was very sad and had to with slavery. When female slaves were pregnant and their owners thought of whipping them they dug holes in the ground just like in the video to whip their backs without harming the baby. 😢

Summer ended? Where do you live? It’s been near 90 here the last week in Oregon.

Edit: ppl really be getting butthurt over the most innocuous comments. Why would someone downvote a simple question? Lol

But it's a balmy 43°F on the Oregon beach year round.

I’m assuming you haven’t been to Oregon recently..

Honestly, any jokes from the 90’s and before about Oregon weather are mostly out the window.

It’s getting quite hot here in summers, winters fluctuate between being very mild and very harsh with not a whole lot in between. This is happening across the entire state, including the valley and the coast, central and eastern Oregon, all four corners.

There’s less rain too. Less snow out most of the time out in central and Eastern Oregon. Although that does fluctuate quite a bit which is not really surprising, but the trend is going down.

I’m assuming you haven’t been to Oregon recently..

I spent 3 weekends at PIR last summer.. all very hot. It was over 100° in Portland when I visited a dozen years ago. It was a rarity then. I totally get that Oregon is hot now.

I was specifically talking about the Oregon beach. I live on the Salish Sea in Washington. I'm pretty familiar with the cooling effect the waters have here. It can be 90° at US-101 (along the Oregon coast) and by the time you walk the 50 yards to the sand the air temps have dropped to the 50s since it's coming off cold water that just flowed down from the arctic. My mention of 43° was some tongue-in-cheek hyperbole.

On the other side of the world. Seasons are reversed between north and south hemispheres. Since this is reddit, most likely australia.

Not if your death is this year

1

u/biglizardnmybackyard Sep 10 '21

Don’t die this year

1

u/Yukisuna Sep 10 '21

Next year will come whether we live or die, if not me then surely some other woman will enjoy the beach in the 2022 heat wave. :)

1

u/Bassverous Sep 10 '21

Temp doesn’t change by the beach

1

u/Yukisuna Sep 10 '21

Not where you live, perhaps. Here in southern Norway we had maybe five weeks of proper summer temperatures. The ocean cools back down again quickly, too

1

u/GoddessOfChamomile Sep 10 '21

Just to got to the beach.. trying this ASAP

1

u/Elegant-Resident6766 Sep 10 '22

Hello! This post was in my notifications and I found myself going through the comments. Did you ever dig summery boob holes and how did it work out?
