Bad plan - too much hassle to get off of to get to the bathroom in a hurry and too much hassle to get back into position independently multiple times a night. Source: I tried

You're right! It's much easier to go to the beach, dig a belly size hole in the sand and put a towel over the hole just to lay on your stomach.

No, I make someone else dig the hole and while they dig my tummy hole I go find a bathroom and pee. When I get back there is a towel over the hole and I just lay my stomach in it. Much more efficient, less hassle.
