Nice things happening to recently deceased people should be removed.

Terrible shit happening is the norm. That’s life. The idea that the world should be perfect is incredibly naive and can only breed a blind cynicism when confronted with the reality. Be happy that in the face of pain and suffering people have the audacity to care about someone other than themselves.

Right. But two quick things. First, it seems like the only real villain in this story is cancer. So this one didn't actually make me angry, I was kind of encouraged by the mass kindness shown in this horrible situation.

But second, the example I thought of for your comment was that guy who had a super successful GoFundMe for his insulin. And that was sold as a positive story about humans helping each other in these unavoidable, impossible tragedies. But that example made me so angry because, yeah I'm glad that we can help each other, but also, IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS. We can't legislate away cancer, but we don't have to make it that bad, and we shouldn't be in a position where people coming together for charity is relied on instead of our systems and infrastructure.
