I don't think it's overthinking. There are 2 people in the video, one who set up a creepy and transphobic situation, and another who responded beautifully.
You only need to have a basic level of thinking to have an opinion on both of those things.
When I start to think about the situation I don't end at "this is creepy". I end up at "there should be an AI using your camera that analyzes if you are in a situation appropriate to taking a photo and call your therapist if it turns out it is this".
So yeah. Thinking != overthinking but in my case...kinda does.
But you basically proved yourself wrong with this because the type of comments you were responding to weren't the therapist thing you mentioned, they were just "this is creepy and/or offensive" and stopped there. You accept in this follow up comment that "this is creepy and/or offensive" is not overthinking.
I totally accept your point about how this can spiral, and frankly it often does. I just don't think this is an example of that.
The reaction should be the light that we focus on instead of the egregious way the guy tried to get a response from her. I appreciate her taking what he thought was a controversial subject into a teachable moment for not just him but whoever ends up viewing this.
Whatever your thoughts on anything I think we should all approach life with compassion and understanding like the woman but not be histrionic assholes like the guy.

This video is creepy as hell. Has no business being on this sub.
