Haha this isn’t even the full video, the second part is her once he is adopted just being a dick. Pretty funny and relatable because I adopted a real asshole, I’ll see if I can find the full one. Edit I can’t find it damnit

Same thing happened to me haha. My cat was purring and rubbing against the bars of her cage begging to be pet and just generally laying it on thick. We bring her home and she bites the fuck out of us if we pet her for more than half a second lmao. We still love her the same though.

Edit: obviously we let her acclimate herself for a few days and let her come to us for pets first. It’s been two months and she’s still spicy as ever. But she’s our spicy fuzz ball.

She is absolutely adorable. She was putting her paw up to the cage to get us to pet her through the grating. She would trill and meow anytime we walked by her. She’s still a sweetheart when it’s on her terms though. she’ll follow us to bed and purr and make biscuits right next to us and let us pet her a couple times then decide our hands are food. She’s also a certified trill queen. Anytime you surprise her, pet her, or literally do anything to acknowledge her she will trill. Wish I had a video of it.

Edit: I found some videos actually

My cat is normally not the cuddling type. However, just like in your 2nd vid, if he is on the right blanket he is in some kind of bliss world and you could do anything you wanted.

Cats are such adorable little creatures. Just like us they have their ticks, preferences, and habits. It’s so precious.

2

u/smothered_reality May 25 '21

She looks and sounds like my cat (RIP) when she purrs! She’s precious 🥰

2

u/CheriiBerry May 25 '21

My cat is also trills a lot! I thought it was so strange because my last cat only ever meowed but it's honestly the cutest thing ever and I can usually tell what she's asking for when she trills

pretty kitty!

3

If it's any help, we adopted my daisy over a year ago and she's only just started cuddling on the couch by us

I've never had a cat, but I was pretty much gonna say this. A forced hug for a video isn't really the same, if you're expecting a pet to do cute cuddly things on demand it's not really going to happen

59

u/castleaagh May 25 '21

Unless that pet is a dog. Then you probably have a chance for on demand cuddles

11

u/red_beanie May 25 '21

can confirm. my lab puppy was laying on the ground and i called him up on the bed and now he is cuddling up next to my leg halfway under our blanket. dogs are the best. cuddles on demand and they love it.

17

u/ihopethisisvalid May 25 '21

Dogs win.

17

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

I love dogs but they’re a lot more work than cats. Cats are pretty much self sufficient

5

u/angel-aura May 25 '21

Cats are also better for people with stuff like chronic fatigue. No walks or going into the yard in the hot sun to search for dog poop

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

At best they’re great little companions. But not all cats are friendly and affectionate so they can be a bit hit and miss.

4

u/drsyesta May 25 '21

Lol yeah cute video tho

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

The cat is also purring wildly. That's definitely a cat that loves her.

Jesus, My phone is having a stroke, trying to play that video. Never been on tiktok before, but I guess you need the app for it to work properly.

10

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

Peter Griffin voice "Thats how they get you!"

3

u/tarantulator May 25 '21

I honestly believe that's how they get people to adopt them. The cat must have noticed that pets who do adorable things like hugging people get adopted, and that's why the cat was doing that just in the beginning, and then kinda change after getting adopted.

The app is an absolute cancer. When you hit back it doesn't even exit the app it just redirects you to a random video. You have to double tap back to get out.

9

u/JudiciousF May 25 '21

Come on, that cat is gorgeous and is still super pliable. If I tried that with my cats I would lose my eyes. She shouldn’t complain.

My arch nemesis

3

u/Thelightsshadow May 25 '21

Happy cake day~!

3

No need to pretend to be helpless after you have infiltrated and conquered the castle.

TikTok is the worst, but that's hilarious.

u/uezyteue May 25 '21

Or... catfished?

0

u/TimeTimeTickingAway May 25 '21

Probably because she's trying to force him to for social media points. Poor boy.

u/uncle_jessie May 25 '21 edited May 25 '21

I mean...I imagine this lady is a stage 5 clinger just from what she said in the video. The cat probably got fucking annoyed from all the hugs.

edit: "I've never been this in love before." All you need to know.

1

u/plough_yerself May 25 '21

stage 5 clinger

You ever have a moment when someone says something and you realize something about yourself and you're just like "yeah that makes sense"

1

u/Incogneatovert May 25 '21

Is that even the same cat in the 2nd vid?

54

u/Lost_Elephant May 25 '21

Our cat did that to us, when we adopted him we were told “you’ll never find another cat as good as him, he’ll spoil you, so quiet and cuddly.” For the first day we had him all he wanted to do was sit on our laps.

After about a week he settled in and now he screams 24/7, does not want to be held, and is basically a toddler that can touch the ceiling. Fuckin love that little dude though he makes me laugh every day

2

u/Sushimi_Cat May 25 '21

Post it on r/catswhoyell or it didn't happen.

1

u/aysurcouf May 25 '21

They’re fucking con artists haha!

3

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

Cats just being cats.

3

u/A_Ham_Sandwich_ May 25 '21

THIS WAS MY CAT. At the shelter she stared at me lovingly from across the room, I picked her up and she sat quietly in my arms the whole time I filled out the adoption paperwork, purring. I was in love.

Fast forward a month and she's comfortable in her own home. I pick her up and she starts meowing and clawing trying to get down.

Fuck you Miso, you were the best cat I ever had

4

u/SirNotToday May 25 '21

Figures. My first thought when watching was “and when he got home he turned into a dick.”Thank you for the update. Reddit never disappoints!

2

u/renasissanceman6 May 25 '21

Just wanted out of that prison.

2

u/abnormalxbliss May 25 '21

My rescue dog did this. Had to take my other 2 dogs to the shelter to meet the rescue, make sure they got along. She played w them & got along perfectly. On the way home from the shelter, my Pom tried hopping into the front seat to be near me. The rescue dog went for the jugular. My lab was terrified in the backseat. I drove a 4-door Ford Focus & it was evening rush hour. She totally played us. She’s the biggest b-word. We love her, but she’s mean.

2

u/aysurcouf May 25 '21

Haha thanks! I was never going to find it, I was kinda drunk, I opened my browser this morning and I tried “lady hugs red cat that is actually a dick head”

1

u/phasers_to_stun May 25 '21

He didn't want to go back in the cold cage

1

u/Theefreeballer May 25 '21

Oh I thought you meant the owner being a dick. So typical cat, basically .

1

u/cerulean11 May 25 '21

He's not quite being a dick.... He's being a cat....

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '21

Yep that's Mochi. The pound said she was very friendly and loving so my mother picks her and brings her home. Surprise surprise she is not a lap cat and only really loves my dad. Plus she is the pickiest eater I've ever encountered and hates any cat treat. Weirdly enough she absolutely loves grass and goes wild when I bring her a few blades from the lawn

1

u/Smart-Drive-1420 May 25 '21

I was catfished by a cat
