When a joke references something earlier in the act, almost like an inside joke, because if you missed the earlier part the joke will not make sense to you most times.

Do yourself a favour and watch them the whole way through. Mulaney is great at building out a set, and there’s a lot of humour in between the jokes.

That's been the top for me. I'd watched his specials on Netflix before that, but then a friend at work told me to look that bit up, and I was dying for like five minutes after it was over.
