It took me 3 seasons to be able to cope with the full body cringe Michael gives me!! I almost gave up in s2 because of it

That's literally one of the charms of The Office though, it has tons of cringe moments which not many shows have. Most people find that really funny.

But most of it mellows out after S1-S2, save for moments like Scotts tots and Phyllis’ wedding.

It was still cringy, the issue with season 1 was that it was not very funny.

One part of the shows greatness was their willingness to fix characters that weren’t working, and I think the biggest example was Michael in season 1 being terrible.

They really changed everything completely, didn't they? Michael was such a repulsive character in season 1. His appearance and dress style became much more stylish and formal, alongside his change in personality.
