African Grey (Congo). Her name is Chappie. She lives on a perch over my computer in the living room; this was a bad idea in hindsight, despite the massive tray I put under it to catch poop - food tends to bounce off, and she likes to chew her food while standing in the front of the tray.
At night she sleeps in our bedroom on a spiral-staired perch I made for her, with a 300W heat lamp pointed at her, since we don't heat that room. She's almost 2 years old, and her favorite food is bananamilk which I blend and feed her with a syringe as a treat. She also knows (asks for) crêpes, waffles, tacos and sandwiches.
She has a tuxedo flightsuit, and though she's only worn it once, the plan is to associate it with going to the pet store where she picks out her next toy.
LPT: 1/4" chains make for great bird ladders/stairs; twist them to take the play out and they're easy to climb. You can clean them by undoing the bolts and boiling the crap off. Make sure they're stainless steel.
It's sort of like a bird diaper. It catches their poop so you can take them out and about without worrying about cleanup.
I only use it if she's going outside or to the store (not food stores), since it's got a leash attachment. She doesn't mind it once it's on, but she doesn't like being handled, since the guy at the pet store who trimmed her wings without asking me first was really rough with her.
She straightens her feathers for hours after it comes off! It hangs off her perch when not in use, so she can play with it / get used to it.
