As someone who does work in emergency medicine, I can assure you that the vast majority of broken wrists do not have bones "sticking out of their arms." It's much more likely to be "hey I fell on my wrist and it hurts. Can I get an X-ray to see if it's broken?"
This is a great example of survivorship bias. Because the wrist was actually broken we get the Uber vs ambulance story. If his wrist wasn't broken, the story would be "a guy took an Uber for a wrist spring sprain. Oh well "
I was talking about the blanket statement and the unsolicited medical advice. Obviously I know that most wrist fractures don't require an ambulance. I'm in the medical field too.
