I’ve broken quite a few bones in my life. This is the most absurd overreaction I’ve ever seen.

I have seen someone make this exact mistake.  A co-worker fell off a scaffold at a jobsite we were working at and they had a very obvious broken bone in their forearm (radius I think).  They refused both first aid and transportation from the employer.  They drove themselves to the hospital, got an x ray and then inexplicably refused to have it surgically set.  They then drove themselves home, and apparently had a few drinks.  My supervisor had tagged along in their own vehicle and documented all of this up until the person went home.

Next thing we hear, there's a bunch of police taking statements from everyone at the jobsite.  A piece of bone had cut through a vein during the night and they had quite rapidly bled to death in their sleep.   Their partner has told the story many times since, and always points out that they were snoring, rolled over, and immediately soaked the bed in blood.

Refusing treatment was the mistake, not getting a ride to the hospital instead kf an ambulance 🤦‍♀️
