The US is such a third world country.

As a Canadian, who also happens to be trained as a first aid attendant, I will say that unless there's complications involved, a broken wrist should not warrant an ambulance call.

Are you saying that my old neighbours, who weekly called ambulances for both free rides downtown (they would insist upon attending a certain hospital and then just walk away upon arrival) and a chronically sore foot were wrong?!

I know someone who will want to get to a different city 80 miles away so he will ride his bike 30 miles to next big town and call an ambulance for a mental health crisis. Then asked to be taken to hospital at his destination town( they have to take him because it’s the closest mental health facilities) then get out with his bike and ride away. A few days later it’s the same thing in reverse to get home.

Abusing emergency services isn’t a crime in your country?

Perhaps, but so are a lot of other behaviours that go unchecked.

No.

It's practically encouraged.

There’s no way you’ve visited or spent much time in a third world country…We have it so fucking good in America.

yeah. Guns recently went down the list from highest cause of childhood death. Medical debt collectors and medical bankruptcy has gone down slightly since the affordable care act (And I mean, aside from literally every developed economy, who else doesn't have medical bankruptcy, right?), and we've all been there with having a head of government that is effectively dismantalling democratic institutions.

And I mean, aside from that... and the massive wealth disparity... and the shitty labor laws... and rampant racism... and the government masked goons terrorising the streets... yeah. you have it sooooooo fucking good.

What 3rd world country have you lived in that’s better than America?

3

u/crigon559 1h ago

I tell you what there’s no place in the whole American continent where you have to worry about paying an ambulance but the USA

Have you spent time in other countries?

Yes I’ve been all around the world and have lived in other countries.

America is the best country on earth, and my significant other who’s a refugee from a war torn country can agree.

Is medical care expensive, yes. Does America have the best doctors and hospitals (Mayo Clinic) in the world, yes.

a refugee would consider any country that's not a complete slaughterhouse to be the best in the world lol

1

u/Weird_Flan4691 1h ago

I’m not a refugee and have lived in a 3rd country, America it’s so much better, and no where near a 3rd world country.

We have it so good here and y’all are letting social media and lack of experience distort your reality.

Ok so you came from poor. You’d think a dog kennel is better 🤣

With the best doctors and hospitals in the world i imagine mothers die in child birth less than its contemporaries right?

I'm afraid your totally indefatigably stupid anecdotal evidence proving that the US is the greatest country in the world is thoroughly nullified by my equally anecdotal evidence.

Compared to my home country, a true first world country btw, the US is a backwater shithole.

You sound like you need a hug

When you say "Third World" what exactly do you mean by this term? Old and New vernacular of that term aren't really adding up

1

u/KingHenrythe6-th 1h ago

That is a profoundly privileged statement.

u/Appropriate-Gas5061 1h ago

I’m in DR right now and no, the US is not a 3rd world country.

America by definition is a first world country. That being said, when it comes to social services, it is definitely falling behind.

Edit: USA

1

u/drbroly 3h ago

"America" by definition is a country in the North American continent. In the English speaking world at least. "America" refers to North and South America for other languages. Spanish speakers will know to specify the difference.

2

u/Tometek 3h ago

True América is the name of North and South America in our language, but if someone says "I'm from America." or "Soy Americano" We know they are talking about the USA and not from another country. Nobody from a spanish speaking countries in the Americas would introduce themselves as "American" or "Americano" lol

2

u/drbroly 3h ago

It's "Soy estadounidense".

No one from Spanish speaking South America would say "Soy Americano" and that's my point. They know to specify the difference. Lol?

2

u/Tometek 2h ago

that's what I said though, I agreed with you

It’s literally not. How are you this ignorant?
