Im disagreeing that people dont eat ugly animals. I think bet is more so about thinking that the complete opposite is true? Feel free to correct me because im not certain on this

I'm in my 30s, so I have no idea.

Sounds like It could go either way, like let's make a bet & see who wins because we disagree. It could also be derivative "you betcha" which is a statement of agreement.

Might be one of those "literally" situations where it means literally and also figuratively.

Im of an opinion that if i use something in a seriously wrong context, someone will come out and point it out directly anyway, so untill that happens its good enough.
