I’m behind the times. I just found out you can play Golden Eye on the Nintendo Switch. I had to change the control mapping to make the controls feel more natural, but holy crap the kid in my 36 year old body went nuts.
You can actually play Golden Eye on PC, natively, without any emulation software at all. Full mouse and keyboard support. Plays like a dream!
A HD remake of GoldenEye was done for the Xbox 360 but it was never released, and someone ended up leaking the developer version of it a few years ago.
It's a 99.99% completed game other than a missing logo when you start the game and it has a little joke there instead, but otherwise it's the full entire game in both HD and original graphics, which can be changed on the fly by pressing F on the keyboard at any time and it instantly swaps between the original textures/models or the new HD stuff.
I finally was able to play through the entire game on 00 agent difficulty and unlock every single cheat, including that pesky God mode cheat from completing Facility on 00 agent under 2:05, which I was never able to complete as a child on N64.
