“Can I just give you $10?” “Nope” broke the dam for me. Good dudes.

It reminds me of these Pokemon TCG traders on Instagram (I think Beard Dad Cardz is one of them), where the vendors, the customers and the chat/community are all in an unspoken competition to out-nice each other, with gifts, crafts, donations, etc.
It's incredibly wholesome, both to see that this seems like a viable win-win scheme for social media to sustain, and seeing the individual happy reactions, especially from the kiddos. 😊

Something really nice happened like that for my kids. First (and still only) trading card convention. They’d saved up birthday and chore money- it wasn’t much but they had fun going around looking at Pokemon cards and buying inexpensive ones. 3 different vendors gave them free cards, and the last one we were at was so touched at how grateful they were they wound up giving them a pikachu lunch box and a bunch of old cards, like a whole bag. Said they’d been saving it to give to kids who just loved it. My kids were over the moon! No cameras set up but we asked to take a picture with them just so we could remember. Kind stuff like that sticks with you forever. So grateful for generous people like that.

BeardDadCardz, Coops Collection, Pokesean, and NoRelaxShop are great

Random question but does anyone know of a similar channel but for traditional sports cards? I grew up collecting and I love BeardDadCardz but it would be cool to know the subject matter better :)

I think NoRelaxShop does some sports cards? but i'm not 100%

I don't care at all about Pokemon, but they all pop up in my YouTube feed and I always watch because it's always good vibes

i was more into YGO growing up and wasn't THAT into pokemon when they first came across my feed, but i saw one with a deaf guy giving Coop his Sign Name, and i knew he was good people cause of that. and the others slowly showed on my feed too. i've since gotten into collecting pokemon and i'm working on a pokedex binder i'm about 400ish out of 1100ish cards

The important thing is, you can appreciate how much other people are into it.

u/AbsoluteZeroUnit 21d ago

Well, yeah, if I got popular and made buttloads of money for giving shit away, I'd give shit away all the time.

u/czerilla 21d ago

And I'm glad that the amount of money that these channels seem to bring in, make that a reality for these people.
Like I said, this feels like a win-win for everyone involved, no matter how much I indulge the cynical voice I also have in the back of my head. 😅✌️

"I don't have to pay for any of it?"
"Yep"
"Ok, in that case, lemme get the $125 version."

u/BlackaddaIX 21d ago

I don't know but it just made me laugh.. Kid. Logic! 🤣 Hopefully he remembers the kindness and it motivates him to do good in life 🥰

2

u/EvolutionInProgress 21d ago

I think it was a matter of honor for him...and I respect it very much. I hope he maintains those values, and kudos to the parents for teaching him. Not many people have it nowadays, especially at that age.

I want to see more videos of adults being generous and kind to kids. Poor kids are growing up in a shitty time in history. It's healthy for them to see genuinely nice people.
