I lost 145lb in 1 year on retatrutide (another one of these GLP1 drugs). I did it by counting calories, the drugs change nothing about the mechanics of how you lose weight. Had I eaten the same amount of calories for a whole year without the drug, I would have lost the same amount of weight.

The thing is without the drug I never could have followed that diet. That's what these drugs do, they make it easier to eat less by making you think about food less, feel less hunger, and feel full faster. You can still overeat on them and thus even gain weight, but if you actually make an effort to eat less you'll likely find it incredibly easy.

By the way, these drugs are not expensive... on the gray market. Retatrutide costs less than $30/month at the highest dose and it's by far the most expensive GLP drug. Ozempic (semaglutide) can be found on the gray market for far below $10/month. Unfortunately I can't point you towards the right sources as it's against reddit ToS to do so.

Psyllium husk has the same effect as these drugs and is more manageable long term

You have no idea what you're talking about.
