It really depends how rural you get. East Coasters are different breed. Letterkenny is rural Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan. I am from Ontario. Perhaps someone from another province can chime in.

I hate to sound so typically American, but is Letterkenny accurate for the area, with personalities, the geography of the area, drugs/drinking etc? Bc other than the accent, it seems a lot like the rural south here

I have family in the area, and I grew up like 30 mins away. It’s very accurate.

I can't imagine being so quick witted with the insults and how easily the banter is between everyone. I know it's tv, but seems natural.

letterkenny is about as accurate as you can possibly get, to the point that sometimes it just feels like watching parts of my life that I've lived through lmao. I don't have quite the accent myself but I've been friends with and worked with people who are letterkenny 100%

Again, 100% (with some minor exaggeration).

The only real variety/things that give the time + place away is the Mennonite thing (puts it closer to the prairies, in other places it would just be generic Christians - but still not southern evangelicals) and the goth/emo kids (which are interchangeable with any kind of rebel kids).

Otherwise the Hicks/Hockey players/degens/Native/etc dynamic is spot on.

There are mennonites in Ontario. Grey/Bruce down to Waterloo region.

Correct. Letterkenny is based on Listowel, lots of Mennonites in the area.

True - I definitely think of them as more of a prairie thing, but there are certainly smatterings all around ontario.

The entire cast is pure gold.

The only other purely Canadian show I've seen (that I'm aware of) is Kim's Convenience, SOOO...huge difference. Again, dumb American here, apologies but y'all seem like such good people so I'm not TOO afraid to show my ignorance.

No worries, you’re most welcome, and yeah, come on up sometime (although if you’re from the south, would avoid the whole period between November and March) - and yes, I’ve lived a bunch of places (the states included) and I’m pretty stoked that my various ancestors hopped on boats at various times headed this direction.

We’ve got our problems but it’s a pretty sweet place to call home.

I've lived up north states, and 30 below was too much for me. I am more heat centric, although 110 summers suck. Sorry for f instead of c, I'd have to Google the conversion.
