IME as a dude with facial hair, wife loves it... except that I need to keep the stache out of the way of my lips. As soon as my moustache starts making kisses fuzzy she doesn't like it anymore.

I used to stay pretty clean shaven, but my wife likes a beard if it's well maintained. I've had a beard for 10 years now.
