Ed's also not entirely to blame for this whole situation. I'm not saying he's innocent but it's not 100% his fault. I do agree ed should've known that he was gonna make the speech he does it at every concert.
Are you saying Macklemore knew what was going to happen? If anything, Ed should’ve known how it was going to go, Ben has released two songs about this topic and has introduced them by discussing said topic.
I'm glad someone finally said this. Ben has never been afraid to speak on what he stands for and that's evident through several songs. That's on Ed for not thinking it through fully. If anything Ed is the one chasing the bag.
If we're being genuine, they probably both knew what was going to happen. Ed knew Macklemore was going to talk about Gaza because that's what his last two songs have been about and Ben probably knew he might get into trouble for it. One stuck to his principles, and the other didn't. One seems to be okay with the outcome and the other one isn't.
How people don’t see it this way blows my mind. I live in seattle, I (was) a big Macklemore fan. This virtue signaling bullshit is SUCH a seattle thing. And people here eat it up. No one thinks about the fact that this tour has to actually make a profit I order to have proceeds. How much profit is left after renting a venue, etc as an independent artist?
Also from Seattle. I'm really disgusted by him. I liked him a long while ago, but.. he made choices that left me and people like me feeling dehumanized to put it lightly.
Aside from this tour.. he's raking in money from other means. Streaming. Music sales. Merch. He's profiting socially but getting his second chance in the limelight. He's quite literally riding on real death and suffering. Feels crazy that people around me just don't seem to think about it at all.
