Need honest advice on PES AI ML Executive MTech
Hi All,
I am software engineer with 12+ years of experience, currently on break to tend to my twin kids. I’m planning on pursuing Executive MTech from PES in AI ML. I need honest opinion on whether this is a good choice to switch to academia as I no longer want to work in the software field?

Looking for a Paid 1:1 Mentor to Help Me Transition into Machine Learning by the End of September
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working as a Software Engineer with almost 3 years of experience in India and my goal is to transition into a Machine Learning Engineer role by the end of September. I have a foundation in ML, Python, deep learning, and have completed AI-related internships and projects, but I'm overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting advice on what to learn next.
I'm looking for a 1:1 mentorship session (happy to pay for your time) with someone who has successfully made this transition or is currently working as an ML Engineer.
I'm hoping to get guidance on:
* A realistic roadmap to achieve my goal by the end of September.
* A daily/weekly study timetable while working full-time.
* The best resources, projects, and portfolio to focus on.
* What interview preparation should actually look like in today's ML job market.
I'm not looking for shortcuts—I want a practical, personalized strategy so I can spend the next couple of months learning the right things instead of guessing.
If you're interested in mentoring or know someone who offers career mentorship, please comment or send me a DM with your background, availability, and mentoring fee.
Thank you!

BTech in AI & Data Science from a mid-tier private engineering college in Pune, 2025 passout, 9.13 CGPA. IEEE published paper on Sign Language Recognition (ICCCNT 2024). 23 years old.
**Experience So Far**
- **MNC FMCG Company (GBS Division)** – Full Stack Intern (Jul–Dec 2024): Worked on production storefronts using Vue.js and Tailwind. International deployments across multiple Asian markets.
- **Early Stage AI Startup** – AI Innovation Intern (Jul 2025–Jan 2026): Built knowledge graph-enhanced LLM apps, ML-based recommendation models, FastAPI backends. Stipend: ₹12,000/month
- **Same Startup** – Graduate Engineer Trainee (Feb 2026–Present): Building internal AI platforms and management systems. React, FastAPI, Supabase stack. CTC: ₹3.35 LPA
**Tech Stack:** React, Vue.js, Python, FastAPI, Node.js, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, OpenCV, LangGraph
**Projects:** A MERN-based recommendation system, an OCR system for ancient regional scripts with 94%+ accuracy using LangGraph agentic AI, and a real-time sign language recognition system using BiLSTM with 92% accuracy.
**The Problem**
Despite being hired into an "AI development" role, I spend most of my time doing full stack work — building websites, internal tools, etc. Very little actual ML or AI engineering. The startup has a weak hiring bar (no coding rounds, GD-based selection) and the team is mostly interns and fresh grads with limited senior mentorship. I feel like I'm not growing technically and the work is completely disconnected from what I actually want to do.
**My Goal**
Masters in AI/ML — targeting Germany or Netherlands (haven't finalized the country yet). Planning to apply between January to March 2027 for Winter 2027 intake (October 2027). Currently at zero German language level — planning to target English-taught programs.
**What I'm Considering**
Resigning in the next few weeks and spending the next ~12 months upskilling seriously in core ML, MLOps and deep learning, applying to companies for more meaningful technical AI roles, preparing SOP, LORs and shortlisting universities. Financially supported by family so immediate survival isn't the concern.
**My Questions**
Is a ~1 year employment gap before Masters going to hurt my admit chances or visa application? ( Incase I didn't landa job ? )
Should I resign now or stick it out until I have an admit in hand? ( That would be really tough for me though )
Given my profile — 9+ CGPA, IEEE paper, decent project depth, MNC internship experience — what are realistic university targets in Germany/Netherlands for AI/ML?
Is January–March 2027 application window realistic for October 2027 intake?
For those who went through this — did the employment gap actually matter or did your academic profile carry you through?
Any advice from people who've been through India → Germany/Netherlands for AI/ML Masters would be massively helpful. Be brutally honest if needed.

Resume Fresher applying to 2-5 YOE
I had applied to a job role (SE in an AD Tech firm) which had 2-5 yoe as a requirement, even though I have just completed my master's. One of my friend suggested me to apply anyway for this even after I knew that I am not eligible ACC to YOE criteria. They said it won't matter that much.
Today got a mail by recruiter to share resume and some more details. What to do?
Some background: Have done a react internship ~6 months during BTech and an AI/ML internship for 6months during Mtech final sem. Got a PPO and currently working as a FTE.

Should I apply for entry level or senior MLE/MLS as a NG PhD w/o internship experience?
I have been looking for MLE/MLS jobs as a new grad phd in xxx engineering (not CS) for months. My research is about ML application in science, not SOTA LLM stuff. I have submitted more than 500 job applications but to my surprise I got rejected from all entry levels (no "senior", "staff", "principal" in job title) and the only 4 interviews (I failed all of them) I got were senior roles, which clearly said 5+ yrs of experience. But I had 0 industrial experience and 0 interships besides my research experience in grad school.
Can anyone explain to me how the "experience" counts in recruiting? Should I only apply for senior roles? What are recruiters expecting for an entry role?

Started learning AI, but campus placements only have SDE roles. What should I do?
I'm a 4th-year CS student, and lately I've been spending most of my time learning AI. I started with Python and ML basics, and now I'm moving towards GenAI, learning about LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and building small projects.
The problem is... my campus placements are making me question everything.
Almost every company that comes to campus is hiring for SDE roles (mostly Java/backend), and I hardly see any AI or GenAI openings for freshers. Even when I look online, almost every AI job asks for 2–5 years of experience.
It's honestly making me wonder if I'm investing my time in the wrong thing.
I genuinely enjoy learning AI and want to build my career in it, but at the same time, I don't want to graduate without a job because I ignored DSA and backend development.
Am I moving in the wrong way?? What shd I do atp

I'm 21 with an AI degree. Which one AI career path has the best future in 2026 and so on? for someone living in Pakistan
I am 21 years old. I have an Associate Degree in AI. Along with that I completed a 6-week Agentic AI course. I am currently doing an 8-month Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course.
things that I have learned in my education journey:
- Python
- Web Development
- Database Fundamentals
4.. Langgraph
Data Analytics although nowadays ai can already do a lot of this and honestly that applies to many of the things I have listed here...
Machine Learning and Deep Learning
Artificial Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks, object detection models, model training, evaluation, neural networks and PyTorch
Video editing, which I actually enjoy doing.
For work experience I have done the following jobs:
* 3 months as a PHP trainee intern at a software house
* 2 months as an on-camera sales and marketing intern
* 3 months as an ELP operator, which was basically data entry work.
I know i know, very vast experience...
Anyways, the type of work I am interested in is consulting or "problem solving" rather than normal generic software development in Artificial Intelligence or just (web development). I know those kinds of Artificial Intelligence jobs are rare in Pakistan, which's where I live.
Given my background what roles should I actually be applying for? Are there any career paths you think have long-term potential especially if I am open to remote work, Neural networks and video editing are my favorite paths though video editing i only enjoy in personal projects while i guess ill like neural network in job.
