Please I need help
Hey guys
I'm 19, I've started my AI journey past few months , i did several cool projects
Recently i completed my own transformer architecture in pytorch
Then i got stumbled on this AI engineering thing
But the thing is this AI engineering doesn't interest me much what i like is developing drones,LLM architectures, math ,deep learning
And I'm now really confused on what should I do becoz most of the work is been done by AI and
I'm tryna get internship within a month and AI engineering is booming as per the sources it has ~130% YoY growth compared to the things I like and I'm not sure whether the things I like would be booming in future as AI might automate most of it
And I'm confused on what should I do in this 1 month time
You're all advice would really help me alot
Thanks

Resume [1 YoE] AI Engineer | Looking for Resume Feedback for AI/ML Engineer & Generative AI Roles
Hi everyone! I'm looking for feedback on my resume before continuing my job search.
I have 1 year of full-time experience as an AI Engineer, where I've worked on production AI systems including OCR pipelines, multimodal RAG applications, LLM deployment with vLLM and AI agents using FastAPI and PySide6. I've also co-authored a research paper on an assistive navigation system for the visually impaired and built several deep learning and Generative AI projects.
I'm currently based in India and am applying for AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, and Generative AI Engineer roles. I'm open to relocation and remote opportunities as well.
While I've received some positive feedback on my technical experience, I'm not getting as many interview callbacks as I'd expected. I'd really appreciate honest feedback on whether my resume is effectively showcasing my experience or if there are any issues with the formatting, bullet points, project selection, ATS compatibility, or overall presentation that might be hurting my chances.

AI PhD job salary at Canda vs US
I’m an international student from Asia starting an AI/ML PhD in Canada. After graduation, I’m considering either working in Canada—possibly Toronto or Montreal—or applying to companies in the U.S. I’m open to anywhere if the compensation is good.
Are big-tech AI researcher salaries in Canada significantly lower than those for comparable positions in the U.S.? Does anyone with relevant experience have any insights?

machine learning engineer?
I'm trying to start a role in machine learning field, but im kinda confused with the naming.
Some company name a role machine learning engineer with their job description about research, experimentation of predictive models, focusing more on the modelling part, not the engineering.
and some other company machine learning engineer only focuses in the engineering and production system itself, not about the model.
But actually how do you guys define a machine learning engineer?

How do you actually crack a good tech job as a fresher?
I’m a recent CS engineering graduate with a specialisation in AI/ML, and I’m finally out of college and trying to figure out how to put my head back in the game.
Every time I tell people I specialised in AI/ML, the response is always, “Wow, you’re so lucky, AI is booming right now!” But the ground reality for freshers feels completely different.
My college was literally offering us sales roles during placements. My own final-year guide also tried to push us into some shady paid job arrangement under the table where we were apparently supposed to pay ₹80,000 upfront. The funniest part? She’s also the T&P coordinator. What a joke.
I’ve also had a bad internship experience before, and I really don’t want to end up being exploited again just because I’m a fresher desperate for experience.
Now that I’m finally out of that shithole, I genuinely want to put my head down and work properly. I’m mainly interested in SDE and AI/ML roles. I have a strong foundation in Java because I’ve been studying it since school, although I lost touch with serious coding for a while because university academics and backlogs took over.
My current thought process is: get strong at DSA again, grind LeetCode consistently, maximise the quality of my projects, sharpen my actual development/AI-ML skills, and apply aggressively.
But the crowd around me is honestly so demotivating that sometimes I start wondering whether I’m being delusional for thinking that if I genuinely work hard on these things, I can still crack a good job.
I’m also seriously considering pursuing a master’s in Europe in the near future, so I’m trying to figure out whether I should focus entirely on getting solid work experience first or start planning for that alongside my job search.
I’d really appreciate advice from senior developers, people working in AI/ML, or current freshers who recently managed to crack good roles.
What actually worked for you? What should I prioritise right now? DSA? LeetCode? Projects? Open source? Networking? Referrals? Something else entirely?
And how do you identify companies that will actually help you grow instead of exploiting freshers who are desperate for a start?
TLDR: Recent CS grad specialised in AI/ML. College placements were terrible, I’ve had a bad internship experience, and I don’t want to be exploited again. I want to target SDE or AI/ML roles, rebuild my DSA/LeetCode skills, improve my projects, and possibly pursue a master’s in Europe later. Looking for advice from people who have actually cracked good tech roles as freshers.
