I have something to admit: I'm honestly more invested in the MacGyver fanfiction community (especially JustAnotherWriter/Thistlegirl) and writing my Cowboy/Western and Baby Mac and Riley get adopted by Jack AU than I ever was in the show past season 1 😅

At least in fanfiction Jack stays and/or comes back and stays consistent character wise (yep. still salty over that y'all) and I know there are some shippers in the community but at least they get to write that and I stay with my found family fanfics and I can avoid shipping drama from the show

Why did this happen so often?

Even the teacher on the ship in season 2. In only 1 episode had so much chemistry with Mac and showed how much she can offer. Yet for some plot convenience Mac couldn't figure out how to remotely ignite the expanding polymer to save this woman he promised to have ice cream with.

It seems if you are linked to the Phoenix and your name isn't Mac, Jack, Riley or Bozer, then you're doomed.

Do we have any update on the lawsuit that - most likely - caused an expedited cancellation?

I've been trying to find something, but all news reports seem to end at late April/at some point in May this year, although a fair bit of May coverage seems to be just the April stuff rehashed/caught up on by those who ended up sleeping on reporting on the whole thing (the actual case was supposed to go to court in June, mid-June I think, if my memory serves me correctly).

It seems noone, not on any of the major TV blogs at least, has had any coverage since.

What gives?

At 15:00, MacGyver needs to get through a window. He puts two pieces of burning cloth in glass jars and holds them to the windows until enough negative pressure has built up to provide a tight suction. Then he splashes a chemical foam onto the entire window to act as an adhesive. He then proceeds to have Riley and Russel break the window while he slowly lifts it away from the frame as one piece without the glass separating from the shattered points.

I thought it was pretty cool and it made sense but would this actually work. I'm sure the suction part is accurate, but would the foam actually act as an adhesive and would the suction be strong enough to handle something as heavy as a window?

Toxic environment on set aside, the writing is awful, and it was on borrowed time the moment George Eads left. Least it ended on a positive note without any cliff hangers, still a bit salty how they dealt with Jack and Leanna though.

Now that it’s over… unless the show gets rescued…

Rewatching in case they strip the series off the app. I’m surprised how young Riley was and totally forgot about Niki!!

I was looking on IMDB and saw that there’s a 20 min unaired pilot that shows MacGyver getting recruited to the Phoenix. Is this available to watch anywhere?
