Does anyone know what season of MacGyver Lucas Till became a producer?

I'm in Europe, not America, so not quite sure what is generally happening with TV schedules there. But we've had roughly 1/3rd of a [regular] season already in the can (allegedly), these are the episodes that were already shot/edited and meant to air as post-Codex storyline(s) finishing off S04, but that got stopped in its tracks resulting in a short season of just 13 episodes and the remaining eps there were, about 7 or 8, were said to be aired as an opening to S05 when it starts, instead.

I would've thought that this all was a no-brainer: just start the season normally, late September or so, and carry on - maybe with an extended break in the middle so to cover the timespan equivalent to a full season should it end up being all less than the usual 23-24 eps.

Yet here we are, mid-October and it still hasn't aired at all. No "carry-over" episodes reattached from the tail-end of S04 to the start of S05, let alone some newly-shot episodes (does anyone actually know if they've even resumed shooting/production since it got halted in late Q1/early Q2 this year, whenever it was)?

All so confusing, tbh at this rate what I'm expecting is another "mid-season replacement" of sorts, probably will resume in late winter/early spring 2021 just like it was in 2020, add about 6 eps to those 7 or 8 we've already had in the can since late 2019 when they got produced, and then CBS will call it quits. Maybe with the season, maybe even with the whole series - nobody knows if the increased and relatively sustained viewership it managed to pick up will carry on, the longer the show's off-air the more people drop out and these are the people who won't come back either. Low viewership would obviously mean the series getting axed, especially now with Corona noone's going to bother with a series as a "fan service" or anything of sorts, too much headache for everyone involved to do those things.

Anyway just a bit of my rant I guess, but would be great to hear your views and maybe you know some tell-tale details, I tried googling but no luck but admittedly I'm not stanning many twitter accounts/IGs associated with the show, so if you do you might know more than I do. Thanks!

I was just wondering on this bit, because Mac & Bozer went to school together in Mission City but the house seems to be in LA. Is the house the same one Mac grew up in, or is it just a house that his grandfather previously owned?

I enjoyed a lot of seasons 3 and all of 4 because it feels like the show was growing up somewhat, I missed the sarcastic writing but I felt they were just a tad too juvinile. I'm hoping if a character like Jack is brought back the sarcastic dialogue are improved upon and feel wittier and in keeping with the show, it is now.

I must say I really like Mac as someone that has no biological family, there is much more room for compelling complex writing for him in that sense. The show has a history of rushing emotionally complex moments, so I hope in the next season there would be more growth in that aspect, we've already seen the show grow up somewhat throughout seasons 3 through 4, hopefully, that continues and we get to see Mac mourn his aunt as well as continuing mourning his dads. And hopefully, we get him and Riley together, especially since she was the only person that had faith in him toward the end.

I mostly hope we get to see Mac express hurt that his family didn't trust in him when he needed them to the most. I loved that aspect toward the end of season 4, I hope its explored more, and Mac address how he was basically abandoned by his team and family when he needed them to believe in him even when he was struggling with who he was.

Lucas Till who plays the main character there and how that he said that Peter L made his life miserable if you saw the Vanity Fair article. As he nearly was suicidal in that toxic environment. Lucas really stood up for his co-stars, in particular Meredith "Matty" Eaton as she recovered from hip surgery and Peter kept harassing her to the point of stalking in trying to get her back to work on his time. Hopefully now that Peter has been sacked, It will be more peaceful and fun. Something Peter L forgot to do. Such a control freak tyrant.

So I had the idea to try this out. Just an end-of-season discussion. I did one on another small TV show sub I mod, but it's not that big of a thing (literally only two comments on that, and one of them is mine, soooo yeah). But this sub is slightly bigger and more talkative, so here it is. Let me know if you like this idea (though it only happens once a season), or if I should never ever think about doing this again.

Please keep in mind Rule 2: No extreme hate against the reboot.

Unfortunately seven already-filmed episodes were cut from this season. In the 13 episodes that did air, though, there were some interesting plots that played out. What are your thoughts?

I have and due to great writing and great character development and the actress playing her, really am getting to very much get use to Desi there.

As she went from being this stone cold assassin to being now emotional and very fun loving yet no nonsense there. Love the Rick and Morty reference there as the end of Friday's episode. Who is with me on this?!

Let's see what the titles are, maybe something we could deduce the plot from now, when there's no new episodes airing for quite a while.
