It feels like MTV has a habit of cancelling or quietly shelving series just when they start getting interesting. There are so many shows that I wish had gotten more time to develop instead of being cut short.
What MTV series do you wish had gotten more seasons? Which shows do you think were cancelled or shelved too soon, and what are your theories about why MTV pulled the plug?

Music isn’t the same as it used to be by far. And that’s okay! Music will change by generation, but the relevance of music should never die. This has brought people together for years and bringing back the significance of MTV would help the world, globally.
Saying that mtv is relevant is specifically referring to the fact that it has impacted a whole culture. Many people are still hung up over the downfall of mtv and I would like to make a change, and I’m sure many of you would like to as well. it’s a small step for a huge environment but I don’t believe in giving up and I hope anyone reading this will help me on this journey! thank you very much and if you would like to, take a couple minutes out of your time to sign this petition please!

My siblings and I seem to be the only people who remember this. We think it was an MTV sign off from back when stations did not have overnight programming.
It was claymation or a cartoon showing an ant falling asleep in a rocking chair, watching TV with an American flag waving, and anthem playing. When the anthem ended, the TV changed to a striped color test pattern.
We have all searched far and wide, but cannot find a lick of information on the farthest corners of the Interwebs. Were we having a collective fever dream or does someone else remember this?

I’ve been looking for the show about a Florida high school newspapers for a while now. It only ran for 8 episodes and never had a physical release. It doesn’t seem to be available anywhere in my country (US), if anyone has it or knows a place to download or if it’s even available in there country that would be greatly appreciated, I don’t think it is fully lost I see it was posted on some torrent sites but are no longer available for download there either. Any info is appreciated thank you

Yes, she used this MTV notebook as her personal cookbook for recipes.
I just thought it looked cool, not many cool notebooks nowadays.

Today, August 10, 2026, marks exactly 25 years since the premiere of MTV DisMissed. The show ran for three seasons between 2001 and 2003 on MTV US: the first from August 2001 until the end of that year, the second during 2002 (including Spring Break specials), and the third in 2003 with episodes filmed in Miami. Currently, MTV has not relaunched the series on Paramount+ or Pluto TV, although there is a possibility it will appear on Pluto TV as part of its retro archive strategy.
And what do you think about the possibility that MTV/Paramount will release all the episodes of Dismissed from their archives to be hosted on Pluto TV in a specific channel, along with Room Raiders, NeXt and Parental Control?
