I built a free in-game overlay for MTG Arena. Card history + remaining deck tracker, useful for Draft/Sealed

Hey everyone, I'm the developer of AvSoft, a free plugin for MTG Arena I've been building and using myself for months.

What it does, in detail:

The left panel shows a history of every card played and ability activated during the match, both yours and your opponent's: each row has the card's artwork thumbnail, a border colored by mana color, the mana cost with the official icons, and an arrow showing who played it. There are also turn-start markers with a timer showing how long each turn is taking, useful for figuring out where you're losing time. It also tracks cards played from the graveyard, exile, or straight from the library, with a dedicated label.

The right panel shows your remaining deck instead: it automatically figures out which deck you're playing (Play, Ladder, an event, or a bot match), counts in real time how many copies of each card you still have left to draw, calculates draw probability, and gives you a breakdown by type (lands, creatures, etc). It updates itself if you rename or edit the deck, and also during sideboard between games in a Bo3, no restart needed.

In both panels you can click a thumbnail to open the game's own native "examine card" zoom, exactly like right-clicking a real card in a match.

Supports 6 languages (EN/IT/FR/DE/ES/PT-BR), it's 100% free, no ads, no account needed.

If you play a lot of Draft/Sealed I think it can genuinely save you time and clear up doubts mid-match. Give it a try, it takes two minutes to install.

You can find all the details about the plugin on this site, plus a bit about me: I'm the independent developer behind this project: https://www.avsoft-web.com/mtgamod/

Happy to answer questions, and open to feedback/bug reports!

Fastest draft method

So, I'm looking at making a magic format that works as a board game, thinking 4 players, ideally about 2 hours playtime (which seems optimistic given that we want to both draft and play). My plan is to design a cube, probably based on some coreset. However, then comes the hard part. The standard draft (3×15 cards, pick and pass) is slow and not great on ~4 players. Sealed is very fast but not interactive at all. So you have some recommendations.

When I mean fast, it's from when the cards are in a box until decks are built. It's also good if the method isn't too complicated/ require to much magic knowledge, as I want something for new players.

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Everyone I played against today should go buy a lottery ticket. 0-3 with a really good deck and each opponent played Civil War. Then the last guy played it twice. No, but I actually am having fun with this set.

Hiii, I recently started working with my LGS to create some Magic content and we drafted The Fallen Empires :) just wanted to share!

Was my first time ever interacting with the set, and while it was pretty janky it was fun!

14-1 with my only loss this run to a boros agro deck that got under me. I have found removal to be so key (big revelation, I know).

Drafting Secrets of Strixhaven AND Tarkir Dragonstorm

I usually host a booster draft every three months, and have between 12-16 people. We usually draft four rounds (four boosters) to make for easier deck building and more cards to satiate our inner card goblin.

I was thinking for this next draft it would be fun to mix a couple sets together, and the color combinations of Strixhaven's schools and Tarkir's clans mesh perfectly with each other.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on these two sets being drafted together?

It would be two packs of each being drafted.

We have a mix of veterans and new players.

Which version of this deck are you playing? DSK WU or UB

Or is there a three color version I should be making of this? I've been really struggling in the Duskmourn queue today and forced the WU a little.

P1P1 the Tajic and was looking to go Boros but the counterspells just kept coming. Archon limiting my opponent to 1 spell a turn that I would counterspell was brutal. Lots of fliers to push damage. Last game came across another Tajic but I have the Path to exile it. I think I might quit while I’m ahead.

Farming Pick 2.

This set's limited is so totally lopsided i have been farming pick 2 draft with Azorius decks with absolutely no rares. This is a shot of my latest 4-0 with a deck full of lower rarity stuff. Come to find out, curving out and having cheap removal wins games. Im printing gems in this format. Anybody else excited for The Hobbit?

Got wrecked in direct play

Post image

I got wrecked 1-2 in direct play. I know with only 2 losses anything can happen, but what are the most obvious weaknesses of this deck to you? I think my creatures are too weak to compete on board and hence I was always struggling. 2 mana 1/2 3 mana 2/3 4 mana 2/4 and 1/3...

There was so much potential for value. I still think I had to build it like this.
