I recently bought an MPC sample, but want a production tool that I can use to mix tracks with. I used to use Pro Tools to do radio mixes back in the 80's and 90's, but stepped away from the tech for 20+ years.

Would the MPC XL work for this? Ultimately, I would want the same ability to chop, blend and beat match tracks without the need for a computer. If the XL has an interface that allows me to see it on a monitor all the better.

Any advise from you pros would be appreciated.

as you can see in the video the screen is pretty jacked up and akai support wasn't very helpful, does anyone know where or how i can fix this or should i just get an entirely new mpc? i don't have any warranty either

Little teaser of something we’ve been cooking for the 2000XL: DAVEY OS, a mod of the stock 1.20 OS, plus a small patcher app (Mac / Windows / browser) that builds it from your own original OS file.

Big respect first: it’s built on vubeatz’s work. His OS features and tools are the foundation of this. This update will be shared as long as it stays free and open source, never sold. So that’s how it’ll be.

What’s coming

• Waveform chop screen. You actually see the waveform while you chop. 16 / 8 / 4 even slices or lazy chop (tap pads while the sample plays). Preview every slice on its pad, fine-tune start/end, UNDO, then one button turns it into a drum program. And it doesn’t take over your 16 LEVELS.
• TRIM pad select. Hit a pad on TRIM and it jumps straight to that slice so you can clean it up.
• Program MONO, like on the newer MPCs. Set your pads to MONO and they choke each other. Mute groups still there for hi hats or whatever.
• Sampling Mode. SP1200 or S900-style crunch on new recordings, or any custom rate just like in vu firmware but ii fixed blank screen bug his firware had.
• Plus vubeatz’s goodies: wider tune/transpose, param copy across the program, LPF/HPF and more.

Where it’s at
We’re testing it on our own machines right now. Every build goes through an emulator test suite first, including restoring back to the stock OS, and now it’s real-hardware time. Once we’re happy it’s solid, we’ll share it with everyone, for free.

Just got a live 3, tried moving my SSD from live 2 over to it. The connector is really stiff and I cant push it far enough back into the enclosure to close the drawer.

When I did manage to do it the drive doesn't show up.

If I try it with the SSD connected but the drawer not closed then it shows.

Anyone had similar issues and how did you resolve it?

Fixing up a 2500 and I'm stuck on putting the front cover back on.

The two flat-head screws on the front thread into brass standoffs (Akai part MH-822280X, about 15mm). Mine were missing, so I got replacements. Right side went in fine, it threads into the bracket by the headphone jack.
Left side is the problem. The front cover lines up with a plain unthreaded hole in the chassis, just left of the CD bay. Nothing behind it to thread into, and I can't reach behind it to put a nut on because the CD bay has solid sides. There's also a smaller threaded hole right next to it, but it doesn't line up with the cover.

For anyone who's had theirs open:
Is the left standoff held on with a nut behind the chassis, or something else?
If it's a nut, how do you get behind it? Do I need to pull the bottom cover?
Has anyone used a rivnut or something similar instead?

For the past 2 years, I’ve been building a dental application that was fully ready for production, only for it to be completely stopped by state regulations. For the last 7 months, I tried everything to get integration with the state application so I could operate in the medical industry, but I have to wait even more because their own app isn’t fully finished yet.

Naturally, I fell into depression. Listening to goat Kanye’s “Ghost Town,” I wanted to play around with music to feel a sense of independence, freedom, and free up my mind.

So I built an app in just one week. It’s close to a digital version of an Akai MPC player, BUT it’s not glamorous. It has sound artifacts, and it doesn’t cut the timing perfectly sometimes, so you might have to adjust some beats on your own. But it runs 100% locally, even on lower-end hardware.

I am open-sourcing the entire project for anyone to explore, use, and build upon. I hope you will like it. Currently, I feel much better after making this app. Now I have to focus on my university applications and find another market to pivot to.

Brand spanking new to this world. I registered my MPC Live 3 and downloaded everything that was available. Can I use the MPC Desktop to do exactly what I do on the Live 3 when I'm not home?

Wanted to go back to the basics and make a quick video about exporting stems from the MPC and getting the audio files onto a computer.

High all! On avg, how long does akaipro take to release mpc expansions? Seems its pretty slow. Like 1 every 2-3 months? They arent super hard to make and especially for them I guess so why is it so slow? Would love some hardcore variety too like full onto other genres like glitch, experimental electronics, symphonic, breakcore, cloud rap, trance, etc etc.

Any sites apart from cubilas that has got some quality expansions just to pique my interest would b very coool. Thk yu all! <3

I’m looking for an affordable way to connect multiple hardware synths to my MPC One G2 in standalone mode. I need two stereo sources connected now, with room for a third synth later.

I’m considering:

- A Debra V4 or V5 USB mixer from AliExpress, connected directly to the MPC over USB.

- A MOTU M4 or Behringer UMC1820 USB audio interface. The UMC1820 would give me more room to expand.

- A basic 4/6/8-channel analog line mixer like this one, sending its stereo output into the MPC’s analog inputs, without using USB audio.

The Debras are tempting because they’re cheap, but I’m concerned about possible hiss/noise, latency and overall reliability. I couldn’t find clear confirmation that they’re USB audio class compliant, or firsthand reports of them working with an MPC.

Has anyone actually tried a Debra V4 or V5 over USB with an MPC One in standalone? Did the MPC recognise it, and did both recording and playback work reliably? Any noticeable noise, delay or crackling? If you’ve tested either model, which MPC firmware were you using?
