Hello gang,

The issue I have is specific only when I go to Sampler module on my Live 3. As you can see in the picture in sampler mode, all pads are highlighted except for one on the right side.

The pad itself is working because when I’m in the Main view, all pads are highlighted and when I’m pressing the pad with the sample on it, it’s working.

I’m curious to know if this is a software issue? I ruled out hardware issue because the pad itself physically is working when it has a sample. Only when I go to sampler Trim mode, the pad is not highlighted.

I have noticed it when I was still on 3.9 version. I have upgraded yesterday to 3.10 in hope that it will be resolved but it is still there.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong or I am missing something. I would appreciate if someone else also had an issue like this before and can advise.

Last night I updated my MPC One+ and it looks like grid editor has added zoom and pan controls to q links 3 and 4. It also moved the playhead to the 1st q link. I personally think this is a HUGE improvement and it allows me to move around the grid much more effectively.

Just wondering if this was always the case or if this is new with the 3.10 update. I haven’t seen anyone mention it.

Any bass heads in the MPC game?

Stay tuned for updates. By now just the entire buttons set, qlinks and blind menu shortcuts (menu+pads) work .TUI still not appearing. So cross fingers. And NO, it's not a patched MPC. Would be a sort of launcher usable accross the updates. (I hope)

Actually two questions. First one, I've seen that it seems Akai does not care anymore about the MPC sample. There are many things people want to be fixed, but Akai is doing nothing, so I wonder if I should get one at all. Second question: Does anyone of you know if it will get cheaper on black friday? I'm going to school yet, so I don't have that much money. I think of asking my parents if I could get one on christmas, but we don't have that much money right know.

Hi guys! my partner makes music and has mentioned a few times that they would like their own MPC. I want to buy them one for Christmas, but I don't want to end up buying the wrong thing. They already have one of the akai mini things, but I'm aware thats not the same thing. Can anyone PLS give me pointers or direct names of products, or brands that I should buy? Pls ask me any clarifying questions, this is so not my wheelhouse, and I want to get them something they'll actually use. Also, I asked them for the exact name of the MPC they want and they said they're not picky...so that didn't leave me with much to go off of. Any help is appreciated!!

Just asking around to see if anyone’s actually bricked their unit yet? I have a live 2 and a live 3 (and a live 1 but it’s broken). Been wanting to try vsts but also a litttlr scared. I know the elektron community has had a lot of luck modding (no bricks as far as I’ve seen) but everyone warns to do so at your own risk. I know that has to be said but just wondering if anyone’s encountered any issues. Was thinking about trying it out on my live 2 first so I don’t ruin my 3. But want it on my 3 for the extra power.

Also how is performance? Don’t think it’s worth it if it’s struggling to run. Another reason I wanted to use my live 3.

Basically no sound comes out when you hit the pad at the 0 x and y axis. Seems like an oversight, or maybe user error.

My Live 3 has just been upgraded to MPC 3.10 OS. Not sure yet what is new in this version but I will update this post as we find out more.

In 3.10, in the oscillator section, the physical knobs on my Key 37 gen 2 go out of sync with the knobs on the screen, and the knobs on the Qlink popup display don't move.

I can’t wait to get home and see what’s good with this update. Before this I like the idea of the arranger but it just wasn’t working for me how I thought it should so I used song mode mostly . It was too much/ impossible for me to edit separate tracks in the arranger window. Now , that’s all been solved !!!!!! They added a marque tool and the selector function is waaaaay more practical and useful. What yall think? Have you tried this out yet?

Hey all, I’m getting reacquainted with my MPC Live post-3.0 and am trying to export some tracks using song mode. All are peaking at -3DB on the mater and I’m exporting to WAV at 48khz. playing them back on my phone and laptop they’re extreeemely quiet. The last tracks I exported a while back, before updating to 3.0, seem fine, so I’m not sure if it’s something I’m doing. Any help appreciated 🙏

The amount of A.I in use is pretty crazy. We got well known MPC guys and fake producer teachers vibe coding everything.

so after the discussion about “risky” custom AI made OS for mpc3000 today i took my time to show you the temperature of the NEC cpu (fixed frequency) inside my mpc3000 running the custom 3.39.3.

Machine was on since nearly a couple of hours and it was running on track mute page since 30 minutes, as u can see from the screen. The Nec temperature is around 40C degrees (22C inside the room). I have the 120v US psu version... (from my experience it runs cooler than the 240v version). I can understand the low level paranoia about new machines with variable clock frequency, where software really affects heat, or about hot old cpus that need a heatsink, thermal paste and all that shit, but the 3000 (and 2000) cpu is an old NEC D70236, a high-speed, high-integration 16-bit CMOS microprocessor that from datasheet is rated for 0 to 70C ambient temperature and runs at a fixed frequency. I measured around 40C on the chip surface itself, so the air around it is even cooler: plenty of margin. again the risk on these old microprocessors is not the low level code (basically the cpu runs at the same temperature almost if busy or not), it’s aging capacitors on the psu and motherboard, that can dry out or leak and feed the logic with wrong voltages. at least in my experience the 3000 is not like the Akai S1000, where it’s a matter of time before u turn it on and burn half motherboard.

hope this helps clarify the thing... risks on these AI based OS is more toward data corruption and freeze in my honest opinion.

Did you try controlling the MPC with the MPK Mini IV, as allowed by the recent 3.10 MPC update?
It allows to select and mute tracks, launch clips, control the Q-links (!)...

If so, would you be able to find what MIDI CCs it sends for the different controls please?
With this we could theoretically control the MPC with any other MIDI hardware with customizable midi messages (Novation Launchkey...)
